Inexpensive things to do in Cozumel

Cruising on a budget in end of September. Looking for fun stuff to do that doesn't cost to much.

Taxi to the Money Bar ($10 for up to 4 in the cab - so $2.50+tip each) for great snorkeling from the shore, sun. sand and good food/drinks/service/facilities. At the end of the day taxi back to your pier.

We like to wander around town. Plenty to see and do, eat and drink. Prices are very reasonable and if you go a block or two off the main square, even more reasonable. Depending on where you dock (if you're at Punta Langosta, you're right in town) you can walk or taxi to town for only a couple bucks.

 

Taxis are fairly inexpensive and you can hire a driver to take you to some different places. There are some small ruins (San Gervasio) that you can go to for a couple of bucks entry fee. Beaches are free, basically, but you'll pay for some amenities from chairs and umbrellas to food and drink.

 

It's not the most expensive place to cruise, so if you're traveling on a budget, you are lucky! You can also negotiate prices for tours and such right at the pier.

Is there a facility charge for Money Bar? Do they have snorkel gear to rent? I've checked their website, which is showing $40pp for a package, but doesn't list any other prices.

There is no facility charge. :) They do have gear for rent - we usually bring our onw masks/snorkels and rent fins, vests, etc. You can get a guided snorkel tour if you want, or head out on your own. Good food, drinks, service, and facilities (including lockers).

Unfortunately, it cost money to have fun! :D

Just walking around in town can be an enjoyable thing to do.

Taxi fare + buy a drink each and a plate of nachos, total cost of the day for 2 is under $40 or so.
