Budget Queen Posted August 9, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 9, 2014 You go to the casino, put the remainder on a slot machine, play one hand then cash out. It will convert it to casino winnings and they will refund the remainder! You don't have to play anything. :)
tandemcruzr Posted August 9, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 9, 2014 They actually use the non-refundable first which is to the passengers' benefit. Agreed. This is the way ours has always been handled.

Reunioncruiser Posted August 9, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 9, 2014 If your ship has a kiosk, definitely use that to get cash from OBC. It was easy and a good way to have cash to use onshore. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
jdbmga Posted April 6, 2016 #30 Share Posted April 6, 2016 your cruise documents will tell you the type(s) of OBC you have, refundable or non-refundable. I can't see where it differentiates between refundable and non-refundable obc on my cruise docs. Says: Onboard Credit: $xxx.xx $100 is from stockholders credit and the rest if from price drops after final payment (booked ES) Am I assuming correctly that the $100 from stock is non refundable but the rest from price drops is refundable? And I can get that amount of of the kiosk some how?
katiel53 Posted April 6, 2016 #31 Share Posted April 6, 2016 They will use the "refundable" OBC first...then, the non-refundable comes into play. You cannot redeem the Non-refundable OBC....use it, or lose it. Your first part of your post is totally wrong based on my experience. The non-refundable credits were used first and then the refundable credits. I have looked at my account while on the ship and it showed what I have posted. I don't know where you get the wrong info you post repeatedly. My last cruise was in October 2015 and unless there were changes made, you are wrong again. TomCruise48 Posted April 7, 2016 #32 Share Posted April 7, 2016 They actually use the non-refundable first which is to the passengers' benefit. That has been our experience as well. On one cruise we had both refundable and non-refundable OBC and received cash from Guest Services to refund a small positive balance. We usually don't prepay our gratuities so that we can use OBC to cover them.
