USN59-79 Posted August 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I am wondering if there is something that I don't understand about accessing my roll call on CC. When I click on Roll Calls, a screen comes up with a bunch of roll calls listed on ships that I have never sailed on. There is a tab that says something like "Thanks for testing our new tool. If you didn't find your roll call click here" Click there and you can scroll down to your ship and your roll call. I would assume that their data base would know exactly which roll calls I have been accessing daily for some time. They even know the last message that I viewed on my roll call. So why do they have a "new tool" that shows me a bunch of ships that I have never sailed on and thank me for testing this new tool. What am I missing here? Dudleydog73 Posted August 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Good question. I click on Community above, and then select roll calls. From there you can find your cruise line and ship, and then further the roll call for your particular sailing. I see the Roll Call Tool in the yellow bar and it had random ships for me too. Doesn't seem to work but I do not know how its supposed to work.
weedpindle Posted August 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Looks like the default are the cruises that are next to sail. Has nothing to do with any person, cruise line, or ship specifically. Edited August 7, 2014 by weedpindle
Rare dickinson Posted August 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I just clicked on the roll call link in the yellow. I see what you said about testing this out. Just above that is where you fill in what cruise line, ship and month you are sailing. It will then bring up a few roll calls (in my case there were 2 for different dates that month) and you can click on yours.
Pam in CA Posted August 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Here's a link to the Princess Roll Calls: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=106 Select your ship and then scroll down to see if someone has created a roll call for your cruise. Pythian Posted August 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I had neither noticed or tried it till today. I (as I'd expect almost all) just go to the ship and enter the roll call through the normal link - which, is actually easier. However, I do like that the 'new' link tells you haw many members are on the roll call, and I'd suppose if one was not used to the current links, it would prompt folks not to load duplicate roll calls when they couldn't fine the original already posted the forum. Nothing too odd about the new link - just helpful info if you have not navigated the forums.

It would be good for the first time you try to find your roll call. After that, not so good as it is not color coded to let you know if there is changed info there. Once you have done that, either bookmark the link or subscribe to be notified when there is a new post to the thread. And the locate roll call feature is not perfect. The roll call title needs to follow the suggested guideline for the feature to work.
