Never cruised with HAL, only Rci/Celebrity so very interested to hear any comments about this ship from those of you who are obviously familiar with her? Cheers. It is a nice compact ship with only around 1200 pax. There is usually plenty of entertainment on board with bands a nd musicians performing in the various lounges, but they do not have a production cast for shows, so it is all guest performers. Plenty of activities on sea days, but it does tend to be an older crowd due to the longer itineraries. Usually a good mix of internationals along with the Aussies. But I can only find that price (on the 1st Cruise site I looked at) without grats. ("Gratuities, Transfers and visa's (unless stated) are not included."). I got the offer by email. After I posted the cruise here I went back to the email and I was sure it included grats. After reading your reply I went back to my email but now I can't find it. I've must have accidentaly deleted it and now I can't find it in the deleted files or bin. I've also got their Sunday paper (Telegraph) ad but it doesn't mention grats as being included. Must have read the ad wrong. Sorry. Still a good deal though. I have an MSC cruise next month for which I've prepaid the grats but it was through a different TA. I got the email, it also says "Prices do not include gratuities or transfers unless otherwise specified and gratuities may be required for some dining options." However, if you're interested, MSC currently have a promotion which includes free drinks for the first two people - I believe this should be combinable with this unless the TA has done something odd so worth checking out. Beejay4016 Posted October 13, 2019 #4741 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Wow, if Christmas wasn't already organised for us, I would be sooo tempted by that one. We've done two NZ cruises, one on the Noordam and one on Celebrity Solstice. Solstice is lovely, but HAL does offer better service, and we just prefer cruising with them. Love, love, love the piano bar on Noordam.

Jatee Posted October 14, 2019 #4743 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Hi. Hoping some one on this forum can help me. Does anyone know if there is a travel cruise co whose website shows what cabins are available for a sailing. I am looking at a Christmas cruise in 2020 on Voyager for 8 people (4 cabins) and would like to see what the current availability is like but I can't seem to find a webpage that shows available cabins. The RCI website only seems to show a few cabins (unless that means there are only a few left). We are not ready to book yet as we don't know if people can get time off work being that it is so far away but I want to keep my eye on the cabins. Any help appreciated. banzaii Posted October 14, 2019 #4744 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Im not sure any one company will be able to see all cabin stock and Xmas cruises sell out early. That might be why you can't see much. My advice is to find out who is in ASAP then call Royal Caribbean. They are most likely to see all stock and can usually recall cabin stock held by travel agencies if needed. Get that firm commitment from all you friends first. Thanks for your help. Also I have read that logging into different countries RCI websites will show different availability and that RCI UK shows the most so possibly try royalcaribbean.co.uk and see what you can see. No idea if it’s accurate but it’s what I’ve read in the CC RCI forum - you could try posting your question there for some extra help
GUT2407 Posted October 16, 2019 #4746 Share Posted October 16, 2019 14 Dec 2019 - 9 nights - Celebrity Solstice - Interior twin share $938pp - Oceanview twin share $999pp - Balcony twin share $1134pp - Concierge Balcony twin share $1288pp - Aqua Balcony twin share $1498pp Sydney - Noumea - Mystery Island - Vila - Lifou - Sydney Pity Im not back by then
willsaway Posted October 16, 2019 #4747 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Re Solstice - it is actually a little misleading. I have just been on the website and done a reserved dummy booking for a guarantee ocean view, no perks, and it comes out at $1,198 per person. I entered Balcony, and the price was $1,500 something, so a touch deceptive. Still works out at $133 pp pn, which is ok for Solstice I guess, but these prices are not true. willsaway Posted October 16, 2019 #4749 Share Posted October 16, 2019 OK, Gut2407, thank you. I will see if I can find it. I did have a look at another popular agent who also cruises in oz, but no luck there. Cheers.
Rare MicCanberra Posted October 16, 2019 #4750 Share Posted October 16, 2019 The agents often have better deals as they lower their commission to sell their allotted cabins.
