barbatkins Posted August 13, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 13, 2014 You get your Diamond perks for that cruise, then you go back to Platinum perks, except Tea with the Capt Mine have always been cocktails and hor d'oeuvres with the Captain and Exec. officers. SkyMaster Posted August 13, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Mine have always been cocktails and hor d'oeuvres with the Captain and Exec. officers. Yep, that's what it's been every time lately. In the past, I've had a tour of the bridge, with coffee, tea, and snacks. Once I had dinner with the Captain, and a few of the Senior Officers, and once, aboard "Ecstasy", I was asked to do a "command performance" for the Captain, and Senior officers. (Actually, aboard "Paradise", I was asked to sing to the Hotel Director.) ;) Lots of fun indeed. "SKY"
Litewait Posted August 13, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 13, 2014 YES.. I have 24 cruises, 25 in Dec. Although Carnival already shows me at 25 with my 3 day in two weeks.. Did not get any of the free offers earlier this year given to random people nor did my two adult kids also platinum.. Obviously wont get this offer because we aren't Diamond and along with that when they "revamped the brilliant loyalty program" they took away perks from the platinum level.. What is so brilliant about Carnival's program for loyal cruisers?? NOTHING!

andy.capitan Posted August 13, 2014 #30 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I took advantage of the offer, and am THRILLED to get, what I consider a free cruise. I can't believe that some folks received this offer, then complained because they didn't get more choice????? Hope they don't cruise with me anytime soon! "SKY" Sounds about par for the course. Even people who aren't eligible for the offer are complaining. :p
maryann2 Posted August 13, 2014 #31 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I am booked on this wonderful deal, deck 9 Lido balcony. I go as a single so this is the charge for 2 people, minus the TFPE charges for the second, to go as a single. I am also booked on the Splendor 8 day balcony on Lido deck. This is really crazy as I return from my Canada / New England cruise on the Splendor on Oct 16th so off again on 24th. A chance of a balcony solo for this price I am thrilled. I also took advantage of this...took the Victory offer... Balcony cabin was $140 pp plus $99 taxes.... And then I got the $200 OBC.... Plus $50 shareholder OBC.... And used miles for free airfare... So I do consider this pretty much free!! Yay Carnival.... First VIFP offer ever in 37 CCL cruises!! I am figuring out how to use my miles for the flights too. Will probably get a one way flight from San Juan to Miami for $120 and use miles for the rest.

jamon Posted August 14, 2014 #33 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Finally, nice to see that Diamond level is getting some nice additional perks over Platinum. Hope they continue to do this from time to time, as this is really needed.
Shipbound Posted August 14, 2014 #34 Share Posted August 14, 2014 We received our Diamond free cruise offer yesterday. 3 cruises to choose from 8 day Splendor from NY to San0 Juan, October 24th , 4 day Ecstacy September 29th, and 4 day Victory November 16th. We are very disappointed we can not schedule any of the 3 due to work schedules. But at least Carnival is finally making an effort to recognize frequent cruisers. Our 30 yo DS that has not cruised in 3 years has two free cruise offers on the books. He scheduled one week on the Pride over Thanksgiving and is contemplating the 2nd free cruise now. We were not happy when we received his offer in the mail and at that point had not received any offers. Hopefully, they will offer Platinum members something soon. Since I am a Diamond member I received the same call last night but I am already booked on the Conquest Oct 26. If I was not booked I would have jumped on the Splendor deal. This is the first time a deal like this was offered to me as a Diamond member. Hopefully more will come. Gary
seabrookcruiser Posted August 14, 2014 #35 Share Posted August 14, 2014 We were so excited to get the call and email a few days ago about the Diamond Cruise offer. Unfortunately, with the cruises we have booked now and some other commitments, we are not able to take advantage of any of the offers. Hopefully, they will do this again in the future--it is a nice perk.
near the beach Posted August 14, 2014 #36 Share Posted August 14, 2014 I would like a two hundred dollar cruise with on board credit of 200. I’d take the half diamond of $400 with $100 obc. Until then I’ll pay the full early saver price.
zstell Posted August 18, 2014 #37 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I was honestly shocked when I received a call, logged in and the prices were there. I have a 24 hour hold on a balcony on the Splendor with a great itinerary, $645 all in for 2 people and $200 OBC = $445 :) We are sailing on the Fascination for 5 days next month to the Bahamas and paying $780 for an oceanview cabin. The airfare will be a little pricey, but only about $300 more than flying r/t to Miami for us, so not too bad. Now, waiting for time off to be approved ?!?!?!? Started cruising in Jan. 06 and will be Diamond next cruise. They know we are gonna go, so they figure don't bother with us! Would be nice to get an offered! However ya get on the ship, enjoy!! Rare Jamman54 Posted August 20, 2014 #41 Share Posted August 20, 2014 Next week turning Diamond, took two and a half years since our Milestone cruise to reach the highest level again. I feel your pain. Just turned Diamond on my Liberty cruise last week. Celebrated by taking advantage of the Diamond deal for the 8 day Splendor sailing on October 24th. Got a balcony for $360 + 142 port taxes. Also got $200 OBC. Sweet!!
LindaJSteele Posted August 20, 2014 #42 Share Posted August 20, 2014 SkyMaster, Which of the cruises did you book? We're on the Ecstasy. My husband met you on the Paradise recently, so we wondered if we would see you on the Ecstasy.
Elaine515 Posted August 20, 2014 #43 Share Posted August 20, 2014 Here is the email that went out to Diamond Guests... From Wanda Whitfield 10:45pm Aug 11 "So excited, check with your PVP, they just stated a special today for Diamond guest. Three sailings only Ectasy Sept. 29th, Splendor Oct.24th Victory Nov 6th, you can book a interior room for 100.00 a person plus port taxes and you get 100.00 a person onboard credit or you can upgrade to a balcony it was Only 140.00 a person plus port taxes with 100.00 on board credit. " Upon checking further, it was $100 for an interior cabin, $120 for an oceanview or $140pp for a balcony on any one of those cruises... Each Diamond Guest also gets $100 OBC... I believe the Ecstasy and Victory are 5 days cruises out of Miami and the Splendor is an 8 day out of NY (I think it ends in San Juan but not sure)... It's too bad my Mom & Dad don't fly because thats a great offer for an 8 day cruise, although we are taking advantage of the 11/6 Victory cruise... :) :) :)
Disconnections Posted August 20, 2014 #44 Share Posted August 20, 2014 In case anyone is interested, this offer has been extended to Platinum guests. After receiving an email from a PVP, I did find this under the VIFP offers for three out of four Platinum profiles.

idlenote Posted August 21, 2014 #47 Share Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) I followed the pages and found the offers but it wasn't what it could have been. We will be gone when the Ecstasy is available, for the Splendor the airfare would be $1500 and for the Victory it would be $650. Of course our problem is our home port is Galveston so we would have a lot of flying, hotels and transfers to take advantage of the offers, still way cheaper to go out of Galveston. Oh well, guess it's the thought that counts. Edited August 21, 2014 by idlenote clarity

After receiving an email from a PVP, I did find this under the VIFP offers for three out of four Platinum profiles. This offer may be coming out in waves then (no pun intended), as I had this offer a month or two ago, but it's gone now. I also had a free cruise from the casino, so I booked that one instead. Now that I'm booked, I have no good offers. Standard. I only get the really good offers when I have nothing booked with Carnival. No complaints though - I'll keep taking the freebies when they offer! :D
