Getaway Cruise Experience 8/9/2014 Date

We just got off of the Getaway and we had a great time, but was disappointed in a few features of the ship.

Smoking is permitted and the way the ship is designed the central part of the ship regardless of what floor (6-8) smell like smoke. Nothing wrong with smoking, but the design and air quality shouldn't be impacted for others aboard.

This was even more noticeable on the limited pools on-board. They are not only smokey, but they are too small. Other posts mentioned that and they were right.

Had we not been in the Haven, which was awesome, but still very small pools, we would have never gotten in a pool!

The Haven Staff and all the Staff was awesome and paid attention to the smallest details, which made up for the negative comments I made above.

The Haven Room we were in was a two-bedroom family suite and we had 6 people (2 adults and 4 teenagers). It was comfortable overall, especially the Stewart and Butler and other staff! Amazing service!

The food was good in all the locations. We ate at Haven for many meals and that was great!

The islands visited were just amazing, just wish we had more time to enjoy them.

Teen experience on-board was awesome with the teen only lounge.

The shows, especially, Legally Blond, was good, as we saw them all.

Overall, great experience, but will wait for a different ship design that brings back pool balance and addresses smoking, we will pass on this ship, but with the crew and staff, it made it all good and tempts us alone to do it again.

I wasn't in Haven but only got in the pool in the thermal spa which was a therapy pool and more awesome than the pool on the upper deck. I agree with the smoke it sacked to be able to smell it everywhere on 6, 7, and 8 floor decks...food was good at all the specialties too

The Heaven food was like a speciality restruant for all three meals. On lobster night diffently make reservations the moment you board. As you get whole lobsters and they were fabulous!

We had some picky eaters, so we generally asked for something that wasn't on the menu and they got it for us. The service was just amazing in the heaven area.

Don't forget to use the room service with your butler.

If you have anyone going, email prior to arrival and ask for bed toppers for anyone using the second bedroom or fold out couch. It makes them much better.

Also, email them your requests such as don't pay for water, have them bring pitchers of ice water in a few times a day, especially when you go to bed, we all seemed to get thirsty and it was nice to have them.

We had a variety of cold sandwhiches, cookies, and fruit delivered as well and they always made it happen.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Did you actually have to make reservations in the haven restaurant or could you just walk in and be seated?

Thanks!

The only night that they ask for a reservation is lobster night as it coincides with the Haven party at Bliss.

Otherwise it is walk in.
