MyVegas rewards

We will call again tomorrow to see if the pts can be put back on my account and see if we can at least use them for casino credit which we should as friends of ours already got!

Doesn't the fine print on the casino credit also say new bookings only?

It would seem if they can get one reward added, they can get any of them added (aside from the discounts on cruise price that is)!!

you would think so, yes...we tried again today with no luck at all. Friends of ours even claimed they had the casino credit added to their reservation, so we tried that and again were told NO. Everybody seems to be confused, and although fine print does say new bookings only, why on earth would they say yes to us???

But why would you even try when the terms and conditions clearly state new bookings only. It was pretty accommodating of rci to offer you the robes, etc when the my Vegas site is fairly clear in this regard. And you can always refund your points to my Vegas and use them for a future cruise as they don't expire. Or use then for Las Vegas where they are easier to redeem and hold a better value for the most part.

Why not try? The "new bookings only" fine print doesn't show up until you click through to the second page to redeem - and at that point most folks are trying to get their info in asap in order to snag the reward before it's gone. Meaning most don't even see it until after they have purchased a non-refundable reward!

Either the "fine print" should be on the FIRST page, or the reward should be refundable.

I would also add that others have claimed to be able to use there on current trips..clearly RCI has no clue as were told yes the first time around...

is it worth it to go for the free 4-night cruise? I have 1.3M loyalty points and have been looking for something to blow it on but its tough to travel with a little one.. does anyone want to buy my myvegas account lol??

1.3 million LP's! I wish they were transferrable. I'd purchase the free cruise and have a blast!.

I would be interested to know what "select ships and sailings" entails. Would consider the 35 or 50% off reward if I had a better idea of what was offered. I have enough for at least the 35% now. I sent an email to myvegas to ask and see what they say, thinking now it likely should have went to mlife directly. Will wait and see response.

Please read that the LPs are not refundable once you select the reward. The 35% discount is good for cruises through 2015 but the 40%, 50% and companion are only on "select cruises" listed on the website above. If or when they add more is anyone's guess. Also the discount is off the full rate, not the currently published rate. Current rates show a 25% discount (50% for the 2nd person and that equals 25% of total). So, a 50% discount is 25% off of those rates. The 35% is on a 10% savings off of the already discounted prices. Note also that the other OBC and Drink rewards cannot be combined with any of the discounted fares.

We booked the 50% discount rate and happy with the purchase. The larger cabin reserved equals a higher dollar discount for a greater savings. Booked an aft RFS for about $3800 (total for 2 persons) for a 10-day cruise.

Thanks all. Was excited when I first saw this but I am becoming deflated by the "perceived" reward. That said, I may have to keep looking to see how good the selected cruises look for the 50% rate, not ready now to book one so have to check back. Sucks that their internet rates are already "discounted" hmmm ...

The beverage package looks better and better but how will that work for cruise cost, will that still result in an inflated ... errr I mean higher regular cost than what is listed on their site? Very hard to determine what works best and plan around it all and the time sensitivity of it all just adds to the complexity. :(

So if I follow you, the 35% off applies to current posted rates if no special WOW or otherwise? (not following the 10% savings part .. maybe a deal I am not seeing?)

I get that the 50% has to be realized not to apply to the current special for 2nd passenger discount as it would not apply. And more specifically I realize now that the 50% is select sailings and ships and the lower ones are any through 2015,. The select is pretty limited I see and only go out as far as March 2015 and most being Jan 2015 and sooner.

Just got back from our cruise on Freedom and had no issue redeeming the MyVegas reward in person at Guest Services. I just printed a copy of the MyVegas reward confirmation and brought it with me on board.

It took the Guest Services person a couple minutes to check with her manager because she wasn't familiar with the reward but I was able to redeem my Select Beverage Package. :)

Seriously? On an existing booked cruise ... wow. Interesting, looks like this is all over the map. Be good to see others experiencing over time.

I'm going to try calling to add it to our cruise on the Allure next month and if that doesn't work, we'll try this!

Thank you!

Now back to MV to collect 32000 more LP's!

Sorry my typing left off part of the word. Should read "only 10%" rather than "on 10%". So, if you used the 35% coupon on a 2015 cruise and the cruise was already discounted 25% (such as the discount for a 2nd passenger), then the true savings is only going to amount to 10%. Makes it less worthwhile to spend so many LPs. The "select cruises"listed are the only current cruises where the 40%, 50%, and companion reward discounts are applicable.

Sounds great, congrats. What ship/itinerary?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the rules. I totally get it for the discount rate, but what still seems uncertain is the other stuff. Only thing I'd like (based on my meager LPs) would be either a drink package or OBC. All I want to know is if I can use one of those on a cruise I already have booked in Nov.

I sure would like to know the outcome of your call too. Mine is also Allure, so maybe once they start getting a few of these it will go smoother.

I have heard many different reports about reward redemptions. I think right now there is still much confusion on the part of the cruise line agents in understanding the rules but they should have been given all the information to start. Part of the Terms indicate that the rewards are only available for NEW BOOKINGS. The OBC rules are not available for any discounted cruise rate, so it is just about a worthless option. Here are some of the Terms for the OBC: OBC IS combinable with standard/full fare rates and restricted rates (for example, Seniors, Residents, Military, police/fire). OBC is not combinable with ANY OTHER offer or promotion but not limited to.... I have been reading where players trying to redeem the drink credits are being denied because the agents are stating that they to cannot be combined with another promotion or discounted fare but the Drink Rewards Terms do not have that same restriction.

That's awesome news! So is it is safe to say you didn't redeem the reward at the same time you booked your cruise, right?

Correct, I had already booked the cruise about a month prior. I tried the whole calling bit and was told no a couple times by RCI and the travel agency I booked the cruise through. I figured what the heck and decided to try it face to face on the ship lol. Thankfully, it worked!
