Independent tour operators-Wind to Hawaii

I was wondering if there are any independent tour operators available when you get off the ship at the pier. Or, any cabs giving tours of the island. Thanks.

In Hilo there are independent tour vans as well as cabs that will give tours.

Just wondering what day you'll be in Hilo. If on a Sunday, most likely you will be in dock with another ship. Then independent tours as well as cabs, will be hard to come by

We ended up taking an idependent tour operator to Volcanoes National Park as our ATV tour cancelled at the last minute. The price was $50 for about 4 hours and we thought the quality was not nearly as good as the tours we taken with the ship. It was a 15 passenger van and they cammed as many people as possible in there. If I had to do it again - I would make a car reservation. By the time our tour cancelled at 11am there were no cars left, so our only choice was independent operators. I hope this helps. If you want to do a tour - book with the ship - I think the price was about the same and they had a nice cushy tour bus.
