Bye bye Royal Caribbean hello P&O!

We went from Royal to P&O then to Celebrity. Celebrity IMO is way ahead of both of the other lines. However we would sail RCI again for the right price and itiniary. For us 1: Celebrity, 2: RCI, 3:P&O.

We do appreciate the service on the US lines whereas our experience on P&O has been that the service is average with some quite poor experiences ( 45 mins to clear soup courses). I know others say the service is wonderful but have they experienced other lines to make a valid comparison?

Well I know I have not had to wait 45 mins to have some plates cleared. Don't have to go on other lines to know good service.

No thats true, but then you have no comparison to make an informed judgement. Just a judgement on P&O.

We did have a 45 min wait to clear soup courses on P&O and have experienced very average service. Its our opinion, each person has their own. Service on our P&O cruises has ranged from average to poor. On our last RCI cruise we had a waiter we recognised from P&O. He said he had to escape as he wanted to better himself but his colleagues were lazy.

Service is subjective, but opinions are biased unless they are from those that have a fair comparison.

I agree with your last remark up to a point - but we all know whether we have waited 45 minutes for soup courses to clear or not - I never have and other than you have never heard anyone say that this has happened to them.

Currently I am cruising both P&O and Celebrity and by and large the service is excellent on both - IMHO of course
