LaShea Posted September 12, 2014 #76 Share Posted September 12, 2014 If I am on a ship with the Mongolian grill, I head there as soon as I drop off my bags and eat as much as I can hold. Then I can ignore the long line that eventually forms for the rest of the cruise. Too funny...this is exactly what we do!! The lines are insane after the first day. Shipbound Posted September 12, 2014 #77 Share Posted September 12, 2014 I am Diamond so I'll drop my bags off in my cabin and go to the lido to get some chow maybe have a drink since I have a $249.00 OBC. I don't think I'll run out of cash for drinks. Gary
LaShea Posted September 12, 2014 #78 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Ironing on my cruise? Ain't happenin'. I am with you there! I bring the Downy Wrinkle Release spray with us. PAPERBKWRITER Posted September 12, 2014 #79 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Dump the carry-ons and head for lunch on lido deck.
soccersharon Posted September 12, 2014 #80 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Buy the Cheers! package, and head up to the Lido for lunch - and my first Funship Special in almost 2 years!! Sent from my phone. Typos are inevitable.
RaiderCruiser Posted September 12, 2014 #81 Share Posted September 12, 2014 We stop at the lobby bar and have our first "Umbrella Drink" usually the drink of the day. We find the entertainment there is great. Usually a soloist or a duo playing some laid back music we really enjoy. WE sit back and know we are on vacation. We just enjoy watching everyone as they enter the ship...It's either RUSH.RUSH.RUSH or a mouth opening silence. I Figure there is plenty of time to see the room, explore the ship and certainly more than enough opportunities to eat.
Taters Posted September 12, 2014 #82 Share Posted September 12, 2014 We love going straight up to the lido pool bar, getting a cocktail, looking at each other and saying, "We made it! We're HERE!!!". Such an awesome moment!
OhWellinMaryland Posted September 12, 2014 #83 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Head to the Lido deck and EAT! :D If I see your wedding party I will say hello, otherwise......Have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon. :)
Luckysll Posted September 12, 2014 #84 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Go to the cabin to drop off my carry-on stuff. Then to the Lido buffet for lunch, followed by either a DOD and look for friends or back to the cabin to unpack and wait for the muster drill. Rare patrice1 Posted September 12, 2014 #85 Share Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Like many have said, drop off carry ons and head to Lido for DOD & lunch. However, it is our tradition that DH gets lunch from the buffet & I have lunch from the Deli. I've had a pastrami & corned beef sandwich every one of our cruises on CCL on the first day!:D And DH wears the same shirt the first day of every cruise. It's a Ralph Lauren Hawaiian shirt pictured above!:D Edited September 12, 2014 by patrice1
Rare Terre Posted September 12, 2014 #86 Share Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) First thing I do is take in that wonderful cruise ship smell....:D Then we go straight to our cabin and hang up all the clothes in our carry-ons, then we head off in search of lunch. After that we explore the ship, find out where everything is and take 500 pictures -- even if we've been on that ship before. Then I pick up a couple of wine glasses from the Atrium bar for my wine. Then we find our Roll Call M&G, then it's time for the muster drill. Edited September 12, 2014 by Terre
cmecruise1962 Posted September 13, 2014 #87 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We usually eat first then when our room is ready drop off our back packs. I like to unpack as soon as the luggage is there and do all my ironing too. I don't want to be bothered by it later. What is this "ironing" of which you speak?? Kristi Williamson Posted September 13, 2014 #88 Share Posted September 13, 2014 What is this "ironing" of which you speak?? LOL Kelly (the wrinkled mess) LOL....Yes! It must be related to work, which is the big no-no when I cruise. :D:p
goduckies05 Posted September 13, 2014 #89 Share Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) I usually do my ironing late on the first night then I am officially ready for the rest of the cruise! Philly Steve Posted September 13, 2014 #91 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We usually board before the cabins are ready. DW goes to a bar and order drinks for us while I go the purser's desk to have our SS cards punched. Such a happy time! :D
zumbaguy Posted September 14, 2014 #92 Share Posted September 14, 2014 The first thing we do is drop off our carry-on items in our cabin (platinum) then we head to the lido for lunch. The option of choice is always fish and chips if we are on a Conquest class ship.
Badfinger Posted September 15, 2014 #93 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Usually arrive at the port about 1pm. We don't buy FTTF but still drop our few carry-on's in our cabin anyway. Then off to the Italian restaurant for lunch, getting there just before the 2pm closing time. The to the casino cage to punch our SS card. Then to the spa ( we get the spa cabins) to get our wristbands and sign up for the raffles. Then back to the cabin to wait for the muster. Usually get unpacked before 6pm dinner. Davey Wavey Posted September 15, 2014 #94 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Drop stuff off in the cabin, head to the Lido for a quick lunch, back to the cabin for a good nap before they bang on the door multiple times to attend the muster drill. HollandAvery Posted September 21, 2014 #97 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Last time we boarded around noon and had lunch at the buffet and then checked out our room, stayed there for a bit and then went up on deck when it was time to set sail. Wish we would have done more...so THIS time we plan to grab a drink on the Lido deck and hopefully grab Guy's Burgers (is it open when you first get on ship?!) and then head back to our room to change into our swim suits and relax by the pool until it's time to set sail and watch as we head towards paradise (: After sailing off we might explore a little and then get ready for dinner (possibly the steakhouse...we aren't sure yet!) gremlinbangles Posted September 21, 2014 #98 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Get food is always first stop. Getting S&S cards punched is usually near the top of the list...we usually like to go to a high deck a explore the port from the boat..watch people board that type of thing

lostdart1 Posted September 21, 2014 #100 Share Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) What is the purpose of having the SS cards punched? To be able to attach to a lanyard which you can wear around your neck. Instead of carrying around in pocket or purse.
