Tink78 Posted September 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Can anyone who has experienced New Year's Eve and day on the Azura tell me what it's like?
kersh Posted September 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Fabulous meal consisting of many courses, the Haggis piped into the dining room. Party hats, poppers and whistles. Usually a show or Cabernet then up on deck for a fabulous New Years Eve party. The evening is usually formal but after 10 pm we were told that we could change into party gear to make it more comfortable up on deck in the Caribbean heat. Fireworks set off at midnight Caribbean time but 4 hours earlier there is the countdown and Big Ben on the screen for the British NewYear. Have a wonderful time. We will be on Oriana this year for New Years Eve so hope it as good on there.
indiana123 Posted September 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2014 A couple of years ago we were on Oriana on New Years Eve.. We had a great meal and piped in the haggis. and the evening was lovely. BUT was just a normal night in the 'show bar', we all made a racket at midnight... then it was all over and most went to bed. The party didn't really carry on for long. The evening didn't really feel over special. which was a bit of a disappointment. I would think that every year is different, depending on the mood of the passengers.
Magicdi Posted September 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We were on azura in carribean last new year. It was a formal night and a lovely dinner was served then all up on deck for dancing , champagne and watching the fireworks go off in Rodney bay st Lucia. A lovely night. snow flake Posted September 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We were on Aurora last year. Nice dinner as usual but with the extras as others have mentioned. We were docked at Madeira so it was up on deck to get a good spot to watch the fantastic fireworks at midnight. Loads of ships either in port or anchored off, at midnight all sounding their hooters. We then set sail about 1am for Southampton, it was a really rough ride but Captain Turnbull kept us informed and got back home early so we could have a peaceful night before our onward journeys.
