majortom10 Posted September 19, 2014 #26 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Thank goodness for that. If we get Milliband in next I dread to think what he will do :-( No worse than the coalition every day you put the news on you hear of the terrible state the NHS is in. besberry Posted September 19, 2014 #27 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Well done Scotland no need to change the flag! Now let's have a vote on independence for England. Yeah. We're stuck with them now!
jeanlyon Posted September 19, 2014 #28 Share Posted September 19, 2014 The NHS was getting into a state before the coalition came in. It just gets worse.
dgs1956 Posted September 19, 2014 #29 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Just shows why you should never discuss politics. It just gets peoples backs up with all the rubbish that is talked.
shallwe Posted September 19, 2014 #30 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Don't care what they do to the flag as long as they don't paint all over the bow of a ship. Looks bloody awful. It could be worse jeanlyon, it could be like the Aida ships! To be honest, I'm probably in the minority as I actually quite like the P&O bow flag. Its bold, modern and has patriotic overtones. Dorset Cruiser Posted September 20, 2014 #39 Share Posted September 20, 2014 Now on post 39 and discussing the proposed bow decoration, so it's you 'stirring the politics pot' 😉😄 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
dsrdsrdsr Posted September 21, 2014 #40 Share Posted September 21, 2014 It was the flag of the United Kingdom and so cannot stay the same if Scotland are not part of it. As has been pointed out, the Scottish blue came into the flag about 100 years before Scotland joined with England and Wales to form the UK. So it's would hardly be necessary to cross it out if Scotland left the UK.

Rare Presto2 Posted September 21, 2014 #42 Share Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Now on post 39 and discussing the proposed bow decoration, so it's you 'stirring the politics pot' Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD I will now return my posts back to the bow decoration having been told off twice by my fellow posters :o;) I hate the new design for the front of those beautiful ships and think anyone who has anything to do with it should walk the plank (if they have one). I also think that it is unfair that the Welsh flag doesn't seem to be represented in the Union Jack / front of the ship design ;-) Edited September 21, 2014 by Presto2

Ataraxia Posted September 26, 2014 #45 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Just seen the photos on Facebook, and the design looks much better than the computer simulation.
shallwe Posted September 26, 2014 #46 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Just seen them myself, as you say, better than the CGI. It looks like what it was meant to look like, a flag with the movement of a bow wave. Well done P&O, stunning art.
jeanlyon Posted September 26, 2014 #47 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Just wondering why it's old fashioned not to paint stuff all over the bow? don't like it at all. Just looks like a BA aircraft. The ship is very ugly though so perhaps it makes it a bit better?

I'll take it all back - it comes across as being more stylish than I thought and not at all tacky. :)

Rare Presto2 Posted September 26, 2014 #50 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I think it looks great- we should celebrate our flag at EVERY opportunity - especially in the current climate. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD It has the same feel that British Airways has with the flag. (I'm not a lover of BA, but the flag on the tail always looks good!) I suppose that P&O need to sell themselves for what they are - a British cruise line with all the tradition that this brings with it. Not sure how many days now, but we can't wait to board Britannia - I just hope that they get a good Godmother for her now. :)
