LambKnuckles Posted September 27, 2014 Author #202 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Lambie so glad u have written this review, I have a question for you though regarding attire in the Dining room, did u notice if the men wearing jeans in the dining room, new jeans no holes even on formal night my husband refuses to wear dress pants wont buy them, or even try them on. Just dont want to get turned away. Thanks Janet Rae:D I'm copying this right out of the FunTimes: Restaurant Dress Code: Cruise Elegant attire. Please note: Not permitted in the restaurant for ladies or gentlemen: shorts, t-shirts, beach flip flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball caps. However... I saw NICE jeans, with suit jackets and sports coats, white button shirts, and boots or loafers. I didn't see them turned away. They were dark blue -- not faded in any way. Maybe they were classifying them more like dark blue denims ... kinda like Dockers...

LambKnuckles Posted September 27, 2014 Author #205 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Lambie, what a great review and photos. We met in the Platinum lounge back in January for the Triumph cruise. You were with Mom. I was talking to good friend, Laurie and her daughter and grandson. Somehow we never connected afterwards on FB. I love your review of the Magic and wonderful pictures. We sailed her from Barcelona to Galveston a few years ago. Your super pictures brought back those wonderful memories. Thanks for a terrific review of your cruise. :D We just returned from the Carnival Legend Panama Canal cruise which was one of the very best cruises ever. The Legend is now in Australia. Wish I could have made the trip over. Thanks for your great review. (I found you and am sending you a friend request (a few months late - LOL). Joan Hello Joan!!! How wonderful to see you!!! Thank you!! I had two friends on the Panama cruise! They were in a Suite -- and the Casino. I think that was their two homes!!! Maybe some eating, too!! Thanks for taking the time to throw this together. Much appreciated! You're welcome and thank you for reading!!
LambKnuckles Posted September 27, 2014 Author #206 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Now, I'll apologize... I have one more full day (Final Sea Day) and arrving into Galveston left to post! I have a full weekend of chores, too... since it finally rained here in central Texas... I have to mow... ;) And two meetings, a Bluegrass Festival, and some shopping... However, I hope to get the final comments in before Monday morning!!! That's my plan at least! Heading out now to hear some Bluegrass!!! Some of our group "lived" at the casino, too. Looking forward to the rest of your review. I love your pictures!!! :D
LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #208 Share Posted September 28, 2014 OK... Let's see if I can get this final day at sea onto this thread, before church! I missed sunrise by 15 minutes -- but managed to get a couple shots. It was raining anyway. Even the sun found its way into a rain storm! Even Nana was cold in the cabin... We cruised in and out of squall during the morning.
LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #209 Share Posted September 28, 2014 The morning was slow and relaxing in the cabin packing and getting ready to debark on Sunday. No problem with the rain. But, once the sun started peeking out more than the rain drops... Wingie was out the door to get her final dose of Caribbean Sun!!! After packing most of the stuff, I looked over to find Nana napping! It's 11am and I wanted to be down on Deck 5 at the Ocean Plaza at 11:30 to hear Skip present "Stories of a Cruise Director & Q&A" So down I headed... I arrived as they were finishing "Secret Dance Class." NOW I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! Shhhhhh, let me tell you... No First, I'll show you:
LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #210 Share Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) You learn the WHOLE dance routine for the Groove for St Jude fundraiser... To come to this class, you just show up at 10:30... To participate and get a T-shirt and wrist band... you go to the Cherry on Top store and give them $10 or more. Or you can go to the Beach Pool on Lido at 2:15... Now, it's time for Skip. I truly have enjoyed this cruise and his part in making it happen! His staff and his presence has made a difference. So... Skip has been on ships since 1996. He started as a Casino dealer, they commented that he talked too much and in 1998, he started the Casino Host position and went around the fleet initiating that position. Then Entertainment staff picked him up and he was on the inaugural of the Elation, all the way from Helsinki. Even through a hurricane when they had to go from NYC to Miami for christening and press of her first cruise out of Miami. If he doesn't share them, ask about his hurricane adventures!!! The had wheelchair races and timed the stairs as the ship tossed about... He's really been a CD for a while! I truly LIKE him. I think he is GREAT!!! Now, it's a bit after noon... and guess what's going on UPSTAIRS on DECK 10 / Lido... Yes, the CHOCOLATE EXTRAVAGANZA!!!! LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #212 Share Posted September 28, 2014 It's the same on each side, so find the shorter line and know that it's open till 2:30... All I got were Banana Fritters for Nana and me, and headed back to the cabin... OH YES!!! I DID go back for more after lunch!!! ...and the chocolate fountain... LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #213 Share Posted September 28, 2014 The menu... And after I had Tandoori and Nana had her Ruben... Here's the plate Iput together to take back to the cabin... NO!!! I did NOT eat all that myself!!! The three of us did, eventually, before dinner! Out at the Beach Pool, they were doing the synchronized swimming competition. Men vs Women... but, I found Skip coaching the men... and OH MY, do THEY do a GREAT presentation!!! I only have one photos of the women... They were quite pleasant and without seeing the men, did a good job... But the Men came out, lined the edge of the pool and dove in sideways, one at a time, like peeling a banana. My camera wasn't quick enough for that... but here's the rest! LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #214 Share Posted September 28, 2014 The men won, hands down!!! The delicate wiggling of the fingertips, and the smiles, and the beauty of it all!!! I will now take you on a tour of the Sports Square... above the Lido Deck, mid ship... It's a whole 'nother adventure over here. You'll have plenty to do -- from putt-putt golf to the ropes course, to weights and other machines, to foosball, to ping pong... well, here you look!!! And I have LOTS!!! LambKnuckles Posted September 28, 2014 Author #215 Share Posted September 28, 2014 You must wear closed toe shoes and the staff straps you to a harness and hooks you into the system... All ages and sizes... yes, I'm sure there was a minimum and maximum, but I saw a bit of everything... and they took me!!!

lgbteacher Posted September 28, 2014 #223 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Lambie, another question. Is there elevator access up to the area with mini-golf and fooseball? We have a friend with Spina bifida(sp?) and is in a wheelchair. I know he would love this area. We found a special elevator on the Triumph to get him to the golf. I knew you would notice these things and wether they are available.:)
Eeyoregon Posted September 28, 2014 #224 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Lambie: Ok, I sail the Magic 2 weeks from today. This is my plan: I send you $$ and you make me a CD of all your photos. Then I photo shop myself into a few of them and won't my friends be impressed!?! :D Seriously, I can leave the camera at home, LOL!! Thanks again for the time and energy that you put into this review. It is greatly appreciated. Gina

I knew you would notice these things and wether they are available.:) Maybe... You can take the forward elevators to deck 12 (there are cabins in the forward, Cloud 9 Spa area... and then head aft. Here's the tricky part that I did NOT look at carefully...) If I remember right, Deck 12 has steps to get outside to the bottom of the Waterworks area. From there, no steps to get to golf or Sports Square. I have a friend on board RIGHT NOW... and I'm asking her via FunVille on the Carnival site. So, I think NOT -- but we're checking! I think there is a three or four stair staircase to get outside to the bottom of the slides.
