Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #176 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks Juli. We did. My only complaint really was the temperature aboard the ship. I am not cold usually so easy but the inside of the ship was to cold. We inquired about it at the customers service desk and were told that they were taking care of it to make sure the temperature would be more like room temperature and I was not the first one with the request. I loved you recap and pictures and thank you for taking the time to do it. Diane Hi Diane. I thought the temperature on-board the ship was great but Lynn & I were doing way more than 'glistening' when we were in Hawaii so my temp gauge might be 'off'!. We were both sweating like pigs in Hawaii :o:eek: (the guys did not seem to suffer as much)! We went to Guest Services after several days about our cabin being to hot & they came to our cabin & worked their wonder & we never had any problems after that. :) If you have anything else to add about our cruise please chime in. Glad y'all had a great time too! Juli
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #177 Share Posted November 5, 2014 It was Hawaiian attire night & Carnival had a Hawaiian Cocktail Party for us. They had live music & selection of COMPLIMENTARY cocktails from 4:45-5:30 & from 7-7:45 along the Promenade at the Casino Bar, Atrium Bar & Jeeve’s. Time to put on your best Hawaiiany clothes! The ‘what were we thinking when we bought the same shirts & dresses’?!?

Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #181 Share Posted November 5, 2014 There was a Hawaiian deck party that night that was WAY TO MUCH FUN! They had live music, games & a Hawaiian Buffet. We 'kind of' never got around to eating dinner that night before all the 'liquid refreshments' so Lynn didn't make it to the deck party & we bugged her about it the rest of the week. What good friends we are! :p We were dancing & a Carnival staff member pulled J.R. aside & said she had to borrow him for a while. J.R. is such a good sport so he went along willingly. A short time later J.R. & two others showed up in coconut shells & had a hula dance off. J.R. didn’t win but our group thought he should have! All three guys did a great job & it was a lot of fun! The show that night in the Phantom Lounge was Jennifer Fair, an opera singer. We missed it because we were dancing the night away at the deck party. Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #184 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks for sharing! We are sailing Miracle to Hawaii on December 6th. ..or as we say...31 more days! Was wondering what nights were elegant nights and Hawaii night. ..also did you need insect repellent or rain ponchos??? Elegant Nights were held on Sea Day 2 & Sea Day 8 (which was the 3rd sea day on the way back). Hawaiian Night was held on Sea Day 6 (the day after we left Hawaii). BTW Hawaiian clothes are really cheap in Hawaii. We brought some from home but we bought more in Hawaii at a little flea market in Maui. We bargained with the vendor & I think we got my dress & J.R.'s shirt for $40. Of course Lynn & Mitch got the same deal! :p We did not need insect repellent but I would think that would depend on what excursions you do. I had some with me just in case. Hawaii is lush & tropical for a reason! :D It rained a lot while we were there but it was mostly just scattered showers & then it cleared off. It rained off & on all day in Maui & Hilo though. We took our Columbia rain jackets & I was glad we had them in Hilo because it got pretty chilly at the volcano when it was raining. Hope you have a great cruise! You will get the best of both worlds having Hawaiian & Christmas decorations! :) Juli
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #185 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Sea Day 7... We went to Brunch & then enjoyed ANOTHER beautiful day! And a snack to tide us over until dinner! And a pic with our favorite photographer Alyssa.
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 5, 2014 Author #186 Share Posted November 5, 2014 And off to the show in the Phantom Theatre. The show was an illusionist named Bobby Borgia. He was WONDERFUL! I know this is a horrible pic but this pineapple fruit dish I ordered for dessert was soooo yummy! Some of those PIRATES!
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 6, 2014 Author #187 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Sea Day 8 Pool time! It was chilly but once the guys got in several other people did too. Lynn & I were smart, we sat on the side of the pool with our feet in the water. I don't know what is up with J.R. but he always gets stuck on the slide! We watched him start down & we waited & we waited & we waited & we heard all these squeaking noises & FINALLY he came down almost crawling the last few feet what seemed like 10 minutes later! Mitch came zipping down & showed J.R. how it is done! Mitch was trying to be a good friend & not laugh to hard as J.R. attempts the slide again. Even the slide attendant was cracking up & kept pointing to where he was stuck in the slide. They had a yummy Mexican buffet that day & we almost missed it.
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 6, 2014 Author #188 Share Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) Tonight was the 2nd Elegant Night. I love seeing everyone all dressed up! I don't know why we always buy the pics on the stairs! Then we took a LOT of pics with our cameras. Dan & Linda were looking pretty snazzy! Lynn & I borrowed 'the Captain'. And a pic with our adorable Little Rae! Edited November 6, 2014 by Cool Breeze Cruiser
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 6, 2014 Author #189 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Rae & Lee caught a nasty cold that lasted a few days so we were so excited they were finally out & about again! Off to dinner & our wonderful waitress Kristy. And J.R.'s favorite!
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 6, 2014 Author #190 Share Posted November 6, 2014 The show that night in the Phantom Theatre was Ticket to Ride, a tribute to the music of the Beatles. We have seen it several times but we LOVE it so of course we did not miss it especially since Music Unlimited was in the show! We decided to give the Piano Bar one more chance since Music Unlimited was not performing in Frankie & Johnnie's that night. There was not as much to do as usual so there were more people in the Piano Bar than there had been on previous nights but IMHO it was still not good at all & we only stayed a few minutes. Bistra Mileva in the Piano Bar We left the Piano Bar & went to Frankenstein's Nightclub. Poor J.R. was stuck dancing with Frankenstein!

sayvan Posted November 7, 2014 #192 Share Posted November 7, 2014 I am a 'little' heavier than I was when J.R. carried me over the threshold 30 years ago! This fish taco stand was parked by the parking lot. There were also porta-potties & lifeguards at the beach. This looks to me like it is Makena Beach or "Big Beach"... did you have a bit of a walk through the woods before you hit the beach? If you did then Yes... you found Big Beach! Loved your review by the way...
Crusin Karen Posted November 7, 2014 #193 Share Posted November 7, 2014 This is JUST WONDERFUL. One question: where do you get all your energy!:p:D
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 7, 2014 Author #194 Share Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks for the review. I can't wait for my first cruise on the Miracle in January. Enjoy your cruise! This is the first time in four years we do not have a cruise booked on the Miracle! :( This looks to me like it is Makena Beach or "Big Beach"... did you have a bit of a walk through the woods before you hit the beach? If you did then Yes... you found Big Beach! Loved your review by the way... Thanks. Yes we did walk down a path through the woods. We thought it was Big Beach but we didn't see a sign & once we got home I wasn't sure where we were!:D This is JUST WONDERFUL. One question: where do you get all your energy! Ha-ha! J.R. calls me his energizer bunny! I go & go & go & if I slow down I crash so I don't slow down very often! :D:p:D
Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 7, 2014 Author #195 Share Posted November 7, 2014 Sea Day 9 Today was the last Brunch of course we did not miss it! The movie Blended was shown on the big screen in the Phantom Theatre. J.R. & I did not go because we had the LCR game but some that went said it was PACKED! And the winners of our roll call's door decorating contest was....Rae & Lee! Rae put a little note "Do not peek" on the flap so of course everyone did :p & there were birds chirping & a ship's horn! It was so adorable & creative! And the runner-ups with great door decorations too were Danelle & Danny and Glenda & Donald. Hanging out on our balcony. Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted November 7, 2014 Author #196 Share Posted November 7, 2014 The dates on the pics taken from my water camera are all off due to the time changes. Dinner with our group was always a lot of fun! Our wait staff was the best! The show that night in the Phantom Theatre featured Ned Rifken, Carnival's Ambassador of Swing. As you might have noticed we usually skipped the musical shows so we danced the night away again in Frankie & Johnnie's. Music Unlimited is AMAZING! And our bar waiter got up & sang & he had an incredible voice.
