Started checking car service actually vans for our cruise. Leaving central nj (exit 9 on tpk). There are 8 of us plus all our luggage about (10-12 pieces). Having them pick us up at 9:15 am so to arrive around 10:30 ish. Getting some crazy rates. $225 each way includes tolls and tip. Anyone know of a cheaper limo/van service from this area to the pier? Bus is not an option. Thank you.

Try Royal Ways Transportation 973-289-2371. Good luck finding a better rate.

$28 each for about 50 mile trip sounds pretty reasonable? Up North in the Boston metro area, we pay $85 each for about 60 miles. Not sure what would be a better option. Drive yourself and park at the terminal?

Yeah I guess now that I think about it $225 isn't to bad for 8 of us. I'll just keep checking. Driving and parking would cost a lot more. We would need 2 cars and that would be almost $600. So in the realm of things the van is cheaper. Only problem is it's really not $28 pp because my DH is paying for the whole thing.

Yeah there really isn't a cheaper option out there. We have been looking for transportation for 5 of us (the other two are meeting us at the port) from Exit 8 on the turnpike, and I think the cheapest we found was still over $150 each way. I keep trying to tell my father that the 5 of us just parking at the port with his SUV is the best option, and this way we are on our schedule.

If 8 of us could fit in 1 car with all our luggage it would be a no brainer but we would need 2 cars and it's cheaper for the van service @ $225 each way.

Now that I think about it - $225 for 8 people w/ their lugguage in a van or SUV is not bad, especially from central NJ to Manhattan. Is that $225 with or w/o tax?

You answer the tips and toll question. [emoji1]

That price from exit 9 seems about right. The limo companies around here are pretty competitively priced.

Alternatively, would a family member/friend drop you off if they have a vehicle that is large enough? and then pick you up?

DH said just book it that it sounded reasonable. He's paying who am into argue. Just hope he's not cutting into my gambling money lol

I highly doubt he is, lol. :D If not, someone will probably hit it big at the slot pull. ;)
