travellady09 Posted November 9, 2014 #1251 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) What my husband and I do is book a future cruise certificate with him as prime and a guest. Then I also book a future cruise certificate with me as prime and a guest. That way it only costs us $100 deposit each but we can take B2B cruises for only the $200 ititial deposit. They don't tell you that you can do that but you can. I always leave off the TA so that I can book on-line and transfer the cruises to our TA when we deceide to do it. We did this for the Inaugural cruises because the inital booking took place on a week end and our TA's office was closed. Then on 8:00am on the day we were aloud to book I was on the phone to RCCL. (hope this is understandable) Take care... Irene and Miles Irene, good thinking. We are cruising in the S. Pacific in Feb. which we booked via a "future cruise" commitment we signed up for on Allure. We still have only paid $200 bucks towards this cruise. Nice not to have so much money sitting on the reservation books in deposits. Also , I use United cruises (through United Airlines) as my travel agent. Once I book the cruise I transfer it over to them. On my next cruise to Australia we are getting 8X mileage plus points for the trip. (Based on using our MP credit card & booking a balcony.) When we return from that trip we will have over 40 thousand miles deposited into our air miles accounts. This will offer us a free trip to Europe for our Sept, Greek Isles cruise. Love getting free stuff! LOL ;) Dee Edited November 9, 2014 by travellady09
podgeandrodge Posted November 9, 2014 #1252 Share Posted November 9, 2014 It's out of action now so some disappointed people that were so close to getting on. No more opportunities on this cruise we think. It really is fantastic though, I was lucky enough to get on this morning.

bob brown Posted November 9, 2014 #1254 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Yes, piano player on grand piano with seats arranged around it, right beside royal theatre. Looks like it's strategically positioned to capture some of the after-theater crowd, if it's not already filled up....;)

GOIN2C Posted November 9, 2014 #1258 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Could anyone supply me with info re the casino? Ie: are there many penny machines? Very tight? Size as compared to Oasis or Freedom class? DH and I spend time there, especially on sea days We are sailing in December 12 sailing and have 4 sea days Also, has it been warm enough for swimming? How about in the solarium? Thank you ahead of time!
bob brown Posted November 9, 2014 #1259 Share Posted November 9, 2014 I hear you. All the other steaks are included in the $35. Only extra for the dry aged usda certified. And it is a 16oz that's a big piece of meat, for me anyway! So I wanted to experience what they advertised as the best. And I don't regret that $53 at all! The highest cost is for the Porterhouse, at $19 extra...add the $35. and you are paying $54. But then you also have to consider that you have already paid for a dinner in a nonfee restaurant that you have forfeited, and if you add the value of that, whatever it is, the total is considerable... smeck Posted November 9, 2014 #1260 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Northstar was flying yesterday and the queue was quite long. I've heard wait times from 2.5 to 4 hours. But it was a nice, sunny day. standing about can get tedious, but at least there was sunshine and fresh air. I could see it going up and out from my lovely deck chair in the Solarium. That is a very nice, relaxing space. The hot tubs are cool and have a nice view. I can see myself back in there today. No way would I wait that long for a one minute ride. Not even Disney have lines that long. Something Royal has to work on.
DKNYC Posted November 9, 2014 #1261 Share Posted November 9, 2014 If you want to ensure that you get no charges from your cell carrier while on the ship, then put the phone in airplane mode and then turn on WiFi. This ensures only WiFi is on and you can use the internet package on the ship without incurring any cell carrier charges. Exactly what I am doing on Explorer right now. Working pretty good this trip. IMHO Also for those booking future cruises, you can get more obc till Nov 16 but doesn't include Asia, Quantum & Anthem or inside cabins. You can also get this by booking the regular way as well. (Not on board) I think. Denise Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

If so, I would appreciate a picture of the blockage (after your return home). Waiting to see the pictures that will be posted after your return. Glad to hear that everyone had such a memorable trip. KS Sunflower Posted November 9, 2014 #1266 Share Posted November 9, 2014 At 4pm today the internet speed on the Quantum was increased to 500mbps and is free for the rest of our cruise. I didn't notice much difference at first but in the last few minutes, it seems to have gotten better. Maybe, I'll be able to check in for my flight home tomorrow. At least everyone who bought internet time, will get a refund. We did stand in line for 2 1/2 hours to go up in the North Star. I would NEVER do it again but we got. A great picture and it was free.. :) We'll, we have a 6pm dinner time at American Icon Grill, so better go. Hope the weather is better tomorrow for our tori pome. You are apparently looking at the ETA on the page. Remember, it is posted as UTC which when changed into Eastern time zone actually says it will get in at 10:30 AM. That is probably a time based on current sailing speed and they will sail faster as they get closer so that the ship arrives on time, which I think I remember is 6:00 AM Edited November 10, 2014 by montekat
