Windsailer Posted November 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2014 I see that you can order liquor packages in advance, but can you also order it onboard? Do you order it through room service? Or go to a bar? Thanks in advance for the info.
Golfisabeach Posted November 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2014 You go to a bar and they put a sticker on your sea pass. This was the procedure on the last cruise we were on. Consider doing it in advance. It is imprinted on your card and you don't have to mess with it.
Windsailer Posted November 1, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Actually I was asking about buying a bottle of rum for the cabin. Not a beverage package. How do I do that while on the ship?
Project_gal Posted November 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2014 If you wait until you are on board, you will have to pay an additional 15% service charge.

But then I can use OBC to pay for it. Do I buy it through room service or just go to a bar?
SheriffJoe Posted November 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Don't you ALWAYS pay the 15% service charge regardless of where its purchased? Also if you purchase it pre cruise don't you have to pay tax on it and onboard you will not?
Project_gal Posted November 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2014 But then I can use OBC to pay for it. Do I buy it through room service or just go to a bar? Sorry, do not know but suggest that you speak to your stateroom attendant. Don't you ALWAYS pay the 15% service charge regardless of where its purchased? The thread is about the in-room bar set up and not a "Beverage Package" [which does attract the 15% service charge]. Also if you purchase it pre cruise don't you have to pay tax on it and onboard you will not? Not if purchased in the UK. Not read any reports that you have to pay tax purchasing from any other place. On board, you may have to pay tax on it if you purchase on certain cruises - e.g. those cruises starting and ending in [some?] EU countries. You can do it using menu on your cabin TV. You need to navigate to Gift section and you can pick the bottle you want there...
