How'sBartCruisin'? Posted November 2, 2014 #31 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Our first and only two cruises so far were on Explorer: honeymoon 7/11 and 1st anniversary 8/12. We loved her and will miss her. 14 short days of great memories. We're looking for something on Grandeur in July '15 or '16.

Scotty G Posted November 2, 2014 #39 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Just heard from a friend on board that one lifeboat is out of commission and aft elevators are inop due to rough seas. Her words were "Weather is horrendous." May have pictures later.
Lady Hudson Posted November 2, 2014 #40 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Carol - thanks for posting about this very important trip. I was on Ex 5 times and will miss her. Hope I will like (and can afford) the Quantum class out of Bayonne. Hope you are doing well with the weather. Katherine
Scotty G Posted November 2, 2014 #41 Share Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) Update from on board around 11:30AM. Weather update. We’re having 20 ft waves and a rogue wave around 5 am at way over 40 ft. (the one that broke two lifeboats from their moorings—so they are now resting on deck 4, sent water into deck 4, broke sliding glass doors on deck 4, and disabled all aft elevators). crisndeefromde Posted November 2, 2014 #50 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Hoping everyone is ok....the Explorer has been through several hurricanes and tropical storms....she is a great ship....I have been on her during a storm and many others have been on her through several storms...just a little further and the waters should smooth out. South Carolina has some of this storm from TN and NC as well before heading out to sea.
