3CatsInMA Posted November 7, 2014 #276 Share Posted November 7, 2014 I call this shot, "Beauty and the Beast." That is the Oasis on the left and the Norwegian Epic on the right. I see Oasis, but where is the Epic? It must be behind that apartment building...

Merion_Mom Posted November 7, 2014 Author #278 Share Posted November 7, 2014 It has taken me all evening to upload my pictures of Antigua, so my report on this lovely island will have to wait. Another early morning tomorrow in St. Lucia! But I will leave you with this thought: From the Windjammer tonight:

1ParticularHbr Posted November 7, 2014 #282 Share Posted November 7, 2014 I'm enjoying your review but sure wish folks wouldn't "quote the photos". It makes for a very difficult (and overly lengthy) read.

I know what you mean. I just look at the thread on the RCL Forum and click on the number of posts on the right hand side. and it will show all posts by each user and then you can just view Carol's (MM) posts and do not have to read all others. DKNYC Posted November 7, 2014 #289 Share Posted November 7, 2014 I rarely take a ship's excursion. On this cruise, all of the ports are new to me except St. Maarten & Barbados. In Barbados, I have organized a group excursion for some Roll Call buddies. In other ports, I have jumped on other people's private excursions. But I found myself reading the Shore Excursions booklet in my cabin. You know that the descriptions can be interesting, and the "restrictions" can vary widely and be VERY interesting. But I have never seen one as interesting as this: I took this tour very nice. I didn't see one 600 lb 95 year old. ☺ No infants either. Merion_Mom Posted November 8, 2014 Author #290 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Here comes Antigua. It is a beautiful island, compact and easy to visit. Our full-day tour left us with the sense that we had "seen it all." The tour company was Lawrence of Antigua. I thought that he was good, not great. He is pleasant and informative, without the pizzazz of some other guides out there in the Caribbean. There were 10 in the group, which made the van quite comfortable. He gave each of us this map of Antigua, so that we could follow along on our route. Click and enlarge it, and you will see that every gas station and traffic light on the island is marked on the map. ;) and.............I have just realized that most of the pictures failed to upload. *%&%@$^ Later. :(
ladylawyer Posted November 8, 2014 #291 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Carol, I'm looking at what, I assume, are the Counties on Antigua ... and see that they are missing one - St. Ringo! ;)
joand452 Posted November 8, 2014 #292 Share Posted November 8, 2014 We took our tour of Antigua with Lawrence, too! Of course, it was so long ago, we need to do it again!
Freedom2014 Posted November 8, 2014 #293 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Just was on Instagram, saw the pics you took of the lifeboat and waves...I don't know if you put them on or if someone took them from you? Merion_Mom Posted November 8, 2014 Author #294 Share Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Carol, I'm looking at what, I assume, are the Counties on Antigua ... and see that they are missing one - St. Ringo! ;) But there is a St. Johnston's. Can anyone who is Catholic let me know who St. Johnston was ?!?!?!? (seriously, there is no St. Johnston) (oh, and I asked Lawrence that: They are not counties, just "towns". Antigua is SMALL.) Just was on Instagram, saw the pics you took of the lifeboat and waves...I don't know if you put them on or if someone took them from you? If not you are getting famous! stolen stolen stolen :( Edited November 8, 2014 by Merion_Mom
Freedom2014 Posted November 8, 2014 #295 Share Posted November 8, 2014 What I see now is the website "cruise hive" used your picture but gave you credit. The Instagram poster did not, but at least you got credit where credit was due.

Merion_Mom Posted November 8, 2014 Author #300 Share Posted November 8, 2014 Now we are on top of where the fortifications were, and the views were amazing. Unlike the U.S., there was absolutely no railing or edging or anything other than a sheer drop, and this warning: Around the other side of the lookout, a slight warning. We are looking down at Nelson's Dockyards and some forts that guarded the harbor.
