Rare Radio Posted November 24, 2014 Author #251 Share Posted November 24, 2014 My Embarkation was flawless. . .I should have waited until 10:45 to enter the Terminal. . .The check in took just 10 min. . . Radio ;);)

rubrrick Posted November 24, 2014 #253 Share Posted November 24, 2014 The boarding process in Cape Liberty for Quantum is a total and complete disaster. We've been in process for more than 45 min. This is completely disorganized. I've never seen the boarding process so totally cocked up. This is completely unacceptable. Did you upload pictures that could be used for boarding?? We were thru the terminal and onboard in less than 15 minutes, on a pre inaugural. We had everything on our boarding pass complete, and it was a breeze. The Big Booper Posted November 24, 2014 #254 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Big Booper- Maybe you know something that I or we don't know, but there has been NO indication that the Ovation is coming to FLL, although I suspect at least ONE Oasis new build will come and hopefully one of the 2 new Quantum ships will also come to FLL or PE... Big Al I remember reading something somewhere that the 3rd ship was slated for Florida. Of course plans could have changed. I dunno.
DKNYC Posted November 24, 2014 #255 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Hi Radio Great review! That luggage area is bound to be much more popular after a 10 or 12 night cruise. I wish they had this type of baggage area in Port Canaveral. ;) Denise

UNV-IT!!! Posted November 24, 2014 #257 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Hello everyone . . . I didn't leave the ship until about 9:15, but the speed through the passenger terminal and customs was very nice. Once I left the ship it took only a few minutes to get through and I was in my car before 9:30. . . It only took about 3 hours to drive home. I had to stop a couple of places for coffee and bio breaks. . .By the time I made it home I was dog tired, and decided to watch the news for a couple of moments. I think a dream or two may have entered my brain about sailing Quantum of the seas again in January. . . Then it will be 10 nights to the Caribbean. I must start planning now ! Here are a few pics from debarkation. . . More pics tomorrow. Radio We pass under the Verrazano Bridge very early The Windjammer is closed ? Say it isn't so. . . I guess it is time to leave now, Argh. . . I love not having to use the shuttle to get to the Terminal. . . The Luggage area wasn’t very busy. . . So long for now, Quantum of the Seas . . . Our paths will cross again ! . Was the ship sailing sold out? If so did any areas ever feel overly crowded?
Rare Radio Posted November 24, 2014 Author #258 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Was the ship sailing sold out? If so did any areas ever feel overly crowded? The ship did not sell out. . .It only felt crowded during embarkation day, which would be normal. Saturday was much nicer. Casino Royale stayed busy all night. Radio :rolleyes: . Rare BillOh Posted November 24, 2014 #261 Share Posted November 24, 2014 6. Secrets to a Flatter stomach class. . Wondering if that is a pay exercise class or a free product promotion like the back class is a sales presentation for the custom insoles.
Rare BillOh Posted November 24, 2014 #262 Share Posted November 24, 2014 From what I could tell it, it looks like the Solarium pool is much larger than the one on Oasis class. I have a hard time calling that thing in the Oasis class solarium a pool, more like a wading fountain.
Rare BillOh Posted November 24, 2014 #263 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Windjammer Marketplace outdoor aft seating . Pomperaugrr Posted November 24, 2014 #264 Share Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) I loved the outdoor dining area on the Radiance Class. I am happy to see it making a return to the Quantum Class. Since Meyer Werft built both classes of ships, this is not a surprise. What a great feature, especially early in the cruise, before it is discovered by the masses. Ocean Boy Posted November 24, 2014 #265 Share Posted November 24, 2014 I have a hard time calling that thing in the Oasis class solarium a pool, more like a wading fountain. cruiserhal Posted November 24, 2014 #266 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Radio, Thanks for the review and pictures. We followed your review of the Breakaway and booked it the beginning of November (we had a Haven suite and loved it). Do you happen to have a picture of the Q's Schooner Bar you can post? We have always liked that bar on the other ships and would love to see the current version. I also want to go and see what the Song of America drink will be. I read they will have drinks named after the older ships. I hope it is gin based. :) We are booked on the Q on March 1 so I will be watching for your Live review in January. Rare Radio Posted November 24, 2014 Author #268 Share Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) I liked my Cabin (Superior Studio Oceanview Balcony), but I didn't like that I was too tall (6'3")to fully fit on the bed. . .My feet hung off a bit. . . I would not recommend this cabin for 2 passengers. It will however sleep one comfortably. . . . with no Single supplement. Radio At only 119 sq ft, this can be considered suitable for a single There is no sofa or standard chair, but there is an ottoman My view of the Balcony There is plenty of room for chairs, foot stools and a small table The Balcony appears to be the same size as with a standard cabin . Rare Radio Posted November 24, 2014 Author #269 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Here are a few more pics of the Superior Studio Oceanview Balcony (There are only 12 on Quantum) Radio I liked the outlet and light switch in the small alcove. . . Quantum has a roomy bathroom for a studio cabin The shower door is hinged instead of sliding (Voyager/Freedom Class) The sink is a little deeper than Oasis class sinks. . A very small table for my “pressroom” The bed was comfortable, but a little short. . . .

CarpeCerevisi Posted November 24, 2014 #272 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Thanks, Radio, for the photos of your cabin. I have an SB booked on deck 7 so it is nice to see what it will look like, although I believe I'll have a deeper balcony (I hope) as it is one of the xx48 cabins. At 119 sq. ft. the SBs are actually 5 sq. ft. larger than interiors on the Majesty and only 1 sq. ft. smaller than outsides on Majesty. Having been in both types on Majesty I don't think I'll have any issue with the size.
The Big Booper Posted November 24, 2014 #273 Share Posted November 24, 2014 The seating on the Silhouette was much nicer, more attractive. Celebrity is designed to be more upscale then RCI. I would expect the public area furnishings to reflect;) that. The concept worked well on Silly and Solstice, should work well on this ship. kruthcruiser Posted November 24, 2014 #274 Share Posted November 24, 2014 It is my understanding that the Solarium Pools are heated but what about the Indoor Pool? Is that pool heater or only the hot tubs by it? I am hoping it will be useable the first couple of days especially for the kids while still in chilly weather. Sorry, no bar back there. There is a food station that people miss as it is all the way aft. There is a bar on the starboard side as you enter the Windjammer from the pool area.
