We have been on one cruise 15 yrs ago and do not remember anything about the room. We are 2 adults planning on Conquest 3/15 to KW, Cayman, and Coz. We are looking at an OV room. We want peace and quiet. Choices are on Main Deck or Riveira. Forward , midship or aft are available on both levels. Please advise on deck and location or a specific room if you know it.

Thx!!!

I would pick Rivera , either midship or slightly aft. Main deck is under the lobby and depending on your cabin location you could be under some noisy areas. We're on the conquest on Dec. 28th and just got our cabin assignment (first time letting Carnival pic) they put us on the main deck , midship under the galley but looking at the deck plans we shouldn't get much noise because were not directly under

I have never been on this particular ship however I have done inside cabins, ocean views, and balconies, soon to be a suite on RC. But if I were you I would personally do a aft balcony for various reasons. It is quite, you do not have to go to upper decks to see the views and you do not have to pick starboard or port side you can see everything from your balcony weather you are coming into or leaving port.

Cabins on Riviera will be quiet Main deck cabins are tricky because they are under many public rooms and the galley.

We had 2470, Main deck aft. Under the aft MDR. Only once did we hear anything-- Happy Birthday being sung during lunch. Wouldn't have heard that if we had been talking or had the TV on.

I have been on this ship and I had a OV midship on Riveira. The area was quite and a short walk to the elevators plus the cabin was 220 sq ft. vs 185 for most balcony's.

I have been on the Conquest, along with its sister ship, the Valor. Every time I have chosen Riviera, so I guess I like it. For an OV I would favor midship, but I would be more concerned about where else I wanted to go on the ship and the most efficient place to be.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like Riveria wins out. What about the 4J cabins all the way aft on the Empress or Upper deck. Any thoughts on those vs the Riveria? What about being on starboard or port side to see land in the ports? Any preference there?

We have sailed in Triumph's 2456 & 2457 & love them for their size - they are all the way aft. Look at Conquest cabins 2470-2474 & 2473-2475 on the Main deck. They look to be of similar configuration.

The only drawback is their is some noice & vibration on when docking - that is where the anchors are located. But on port days, most of us are up early to go into port for the day.

Love having the extra space & the view of the wake is spectacular! Good luck!!!

I ave stayed in cqbin 2473. An aft cabin. A little noisy when they are porting, but its worth it! Aheck of a lot of extra room. You can strech out and relax. The only thing missing is a tub & balcony! A wonderful cabin.

The 4Js are all the way forward. You need to be careful with Aft on the Upper deck. Last May on the Conquest the Degas lounge was very noisy on the Upper deck. We could hear the jokes the comedian told and the words to the Karaoke sang in the lounge in rooms 6473 and 6475. Friends in 6481 (next door) barely heard anything. It seemed to have something to do with speakers attached to the lounge ceiling and they were able to make it somewhat better without much impact to the volume inside the lounge.

Other noisy places on the Conquest Upper deck are about the casino band stand and around the lobby band. Our teenage nieces tried a couple of the empty cabins in those areas until they got one a lot quieter than 6475.

I've been on both decks, and for me, Main deck is the easy winner. You just have to choose the right spot. Don't pick a room under the galley/kitchen. That runs from the midship elevators to the aft elevators. The back of the ship on these lower decks tends to experience more vibrations and inconsistent noises. So I would recommend the forward half of the ship on Main deck. Underneath the dining room would be the best possible spot, as it is carpeted to cut out almost all the noise, plus it's empty all night long. Being in the forward half is great for being able to use the forward glass elevators (which go down to deck 2 but not deck 1) in addition to the regular elevators, giving you 10 elevators in total there. Plus, the forward area is usually where you get off/on in port, giving you a very short walk going to/from your room. Staying on a lower deck allows you to avoid the crazy madness around the elevators when getting off/on the ship in port.

I enjoy the porthole rooms in the front of the ship. There are only 6 of these types of rooms (portholes & 2 standard beds), while there are also porthole rooms that have 1 standard bed & a sofabed or upper. These are the 2 cheapest categories on the ship. Cheaper than standard insides, but much larger rooms (almost as large as an OV), plus you get a view.
