rjhollan Posted December 3, 2014 #52 Share Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) We leave in 10 days for the Glory, but I do admit that the reviews make it sound like carnival is slipping. What did you do in San Juan? How was the steakhouse? Everything I read said SJ isn't a beach destination. Since we were planning on beaches on the other 3 stops, we decided to hit up the forts. We grabbed the free El Morro trolly at the port up to stop 18B and stopped at San Cristobal (the first fort on the way to El Morro). We then walked from there about .3 miles to Raices for lunch ($75 for 4 of us including tip). 2 Adults ordered Mofongos and 2 kids ordered chicken nuggets & fries. Food was decent, took about 45 minutes to reach the table though and they weren't really slammed. They did have free wifi though (ask the waitress for the password) so that helped pass the time. http://www.restauranteraices.com/English/index.html When we got out of the restaurant's A/C and back into the heat, it felt hotter than when we went in. We opted to snag a cab back to the port - $10 minimum fare for the 4 of us, but it was well worth it to beat the heat. :) We didn't eat in the steakhouse, but heard during the BtF tour that they make zero profit on it, because the cost of the ingredients is so high (they use only USDA Prime cuts). I'm from Kansas City. I can get great steak any day of the week. ;-) Edited December 3, 2014 by rjhollan added steakhouse info
0pelletier0 Posted December 3, 2014 #53 Share Posted December 3, 2014 We did a 2.5 hour Stand Up Paddleboarding and Reef Snorkel excursion, which I really enjoyed. Nice reef and fun experience. We have this excursion booked for our February sailing! Was it run well? Did you think it was worth the money? And we're you able to actually see any sealife while paddle boarding? rjhollan Posted December 6, 2014 #54 Share Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) This is a pic of the drawers in our cabin. Seems like they just found random drawers and threw them in... they didn't fit very well. We still used them anyway, just couldn't close them. :) http://i.imgur_dot_com/4JSApkP.jpg?1 Edited December 6, 2014 by rjhollan
kapcruiser Posted March 7, 2015 #55 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Was your room bigger than a regular inside? Did you have a couch?
hayleybirk Posted March 7, 2015 #56 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I had a 4J on the 6th floor, 6201. Big enough for my needs, it wasn't dark like an inside room and it was easy on the wallet. The playlist productions were great. I saw Divas and Epic Rock on this cruise, and I saw Latin Nights and Motor City on my last cruise on her. All were fantastic and I recommend seeing them, especially Epic Rock and Latin Nights. Enjoy your cruise! We are booked 4E on deck 6...is that deck as bad as people say it is, with the casino one deck below?
cruisexlife Posted March 7, 2015 Author #57 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We are booked 4E on deck 6...is that deck as bad as people say it is, with the casino one deck below? I'm not quite sure. I was on the very front, so I was above the theater and it wasn't bad at all. But above the casino, I heard people talk about how loud it was. Read my review! kapcruiser Posted March 25, 2015 #58 Share Posted March 25, 2015 Would you recommend 6201? If it is still available when we book I was thinking of taking it? It looks like a good layout.

Of course! I thought being above the theater would be bad, but I didn't even notice it. No noise at all. I would totally recommend it, you have the secret deck right there, the 7th one right above, you're just steps from the promenade and a short elevator ride to the lido. I hope you go with it! jay49307 Posted March 27, 2015 #60 Share Posted March 27, 2015 What method of transportation to get from FLL to Miami? Being on deck 6 and in the front could you feel the motion of the ship or was it pretty good? Thanks for the info.

Being on deck 6 and in the front could you feel the motion of the ship or was it pretty good? Thanks for the info. I used the transportation shuttle through Carnival, $20 per person each way. No I didn't feel anything, but the water was like glass. Read my review for more!
jag.wsfd Posted March 28, 2015 #62 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Just over a month away from sailing on the Glory! First time in a scenic OV. Can't wait to see the view. Same ports of call besides nassau. Stopping at half moon cay instead. What nights are elegant nights?

cruisexlife Posted March 30, 2015 Author #66 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Which side of ship would you prefer to have cabin? I usually get a 4J on the front, but when I get a balcony, I base it off of ports. But both of Glory's itineraries show that the port side is better. so the even numbered cabins. Cardancer4 Posted March 30, 2015 #67 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Sitting on lido right now waiting to get off. I did a 7 day Thanksgiving cruise to Nassau , St.Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. I'll take any questions about the ship, ports, transfer from FLL, embarkation, thanksgiving onboard, etc. Debarkation is pending, but I will be able to answer questions about that soon. Photo Review coming in the next couple days !!! :D Just wanted to know how the A/C worked in your cabin. Was your cabin A/C working properly? Was it cool enough? Also other posts have indicated that smoking was an issue on this ship, is this true? Will we smell like an ashtray everytime we venture near the casino?
