Not to mention you can look at your S&S anytime to show anything you have spent in the casino. They work no different than any slot in any land based casino. CruisinHarvey Posted July 15, 2015 #31 Share Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Pretty standard story. Not very interesting. I give it 4 as far as CC goes. I didn't learn anything. I already knew that casino's would keep taking your money as long as you gave it to them. Anybody got some new casino news? Carnival seems to be rolling out $2 chips on all their ships and raising the minimum on table games to $10. There are a few threads with specific ships that have already made the switch. HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Davey Wavey: Earlier this year took a trip with Celebrity Cruise Line and noticed that they raised the minimum bet on table games to $10 also. It is not unique to Carnival. Just do what investor Jimmy Rodgers does, when you take enough of a beating, quit.
LOVINCRUIZIN Posted July 21, 2015 #37 Share Posted July 21, 2015 :( $10 minimums would be disappointing. Especially on a 10+ day cruise, I like playing many hours on $5 tables. For me, $10 makes it a less enjoyable bet.

ashjaydragon Posted July 27, 2015 #39 Share Posted July 27, 2015 It's op fault they spent so much. Don't feel bad at all for them. My only complaint with carnival is that of the 4 cruises I've played I'm only now getting free drinks. They should give you free drinks when you play in the casino I earned free drinks on my last cruise, but I never noticed I got to the points I needed. I was lucky enough that the girl getting my drinks noticed and pointed it out. It was on my second to last day too, but I was doing a back to back and found out that if you are, the free drinks transfer to the next cruise. For my cruise next week and my back to back in November, for the first time ever, I planned to severely limit gambling on the first leg as Carnival seems to only consider your most recent sailing for promos. I don't gamble for the perks, but I won't gamble without them. :D The $10 minimum doesn't affect me much since I tend to bet a stack of 22 chips, but the $2 chips do. They had $2 chips with the same $5 minimum on the Breeze, and it just made me bet a lot less. Instead of just playing with little plastic chips, psychologically they became $2 bills. I played a stack of 5 most of the time.

jamiehaas27 Posted August 4, 2015 #45 Share Posted August 4, 2015 It was that persons first post...has to just be causing trouble. I know what it's like to go on tilt while gambling and not realize what I have lost until it was too late, but that is my fault, not going to go and blame someone else for me being a degenerate gambler :) My 30th birthday in Vegas I had an envelope full of 100's probably 25-30 and went on a losing streak and just kept pulling out 100's ...I estimated that I pulled out 15 or so and had at least 1000 left in my pocket....nope...$200 was all that was left! jamiehaas27 Posted August 4, 2015 #46 Share Posted August 4, 2015 I also don't like that they charge 3% now...I used to love using CC to get the miles and not have to carry the cash.

Grandpaul Posted August 4, 2015 #49 Share Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) As a comedian once said in a show in Vegas "I woke up in the middle of the night and went gambling. After a couple hours I realized I had lost over $5000 and I knew I had a problem. I saw a bunch of signs around the casino that said "If you have a gambling problem call this number. 1-88-???????. I called. It was Room Reservations." Edited August 5, 2015 by Grandpaul
urbanhawk Posted August 5, 2015 #50 Share Posted August 5, 2015 I also don't like that they charge 3% now...I used to love using CC to get the miles and not have to carry the cash. I learned the hard way on my last cruise-when you are using your Sail and Sign card in the slot machines (one-armed bandits;) ), just add the $100 to your room charge, then another and another-you get the point-:eek:this way you don't get charged the 3%, it does get billed to your credit card, thus getting the miles. :D
