I would like to know anything anyone can tell me about the Adventure of the Seas. I read its a older ship but has been upgraded. Is it like a mini allure of the seas? What kind of shape is it in? Does it have the rock climbing walls and the ice rink? We are thinking of taking a 2016 cruise out of san juan and it has some interesting stops that we have never been to Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Being a regular RCI cruiser and having cruised Princess twice this year, I think you will really enjoy AOS. On board activities and evening entertainment is very similar to Princess. The biggest difference is ship design. The Royal Promenade is much larger and has a lot more to do than the Princess Piazza. Also, AOS staterooms are noticably larger than Princess staterooms, and all rooms have a couch and interactive televisions.

Yes, there is a rock wall and ice rink. The ice show is a must see, especially since it's unique to RCI and unlike shows (and venues) you've seen on Princess.

I haven't been on AOS recently, so can't speak to the condition.

It's been a while, but we really enjoyed our cruises on AOS. We are booked on it December 2015 because the itinerary was port intensive.

Friends sailed it last year and said the ship was in incredible shape and the staff was amazing. It might not have all the bells and whistles of a newer ship, but it's still a big ship and has lots of great attributes.

That looked like a great link footzz but when I went to it everything I clicked on said there was no match. If anyone has cruised princess also which ship would you compare it to? We are going on Regal princess in Jan. and was wondering how big the Adventure is compared to that. Just not sure of going on a ship that old even with the upgrades.

I should tell you that I've never sailed Princess. Only, RCI, Celebrity and Disney (not my fav) but our family loved Adventure. We sailed both itineraries the past 2 years before the upgrades and absolutely loved it. We loved the ports, of course, but we also loved the ship. It has the ice rink, rock wall and it had a roller blade track and mini golf at least when we were on it. Not sure about now.

We loved the staff and service on adventure and I appreciated the fact that it was easy to get into My Time dining w/o reservations. The ship never felt crowded to me and the Windjammer has cooked to order eggs most days.

We are going on Oasis next month and frankly I'm a little nervous. I hope we like it as much as Adventure.

If you want to try something new, I say, go for it.

Cheers,

You will love Adventure. It is our favorite class of Royal's ships. We find Royal and Princess provide similar experiences and would sail either line in a heartbeat.

Have not been on Adventure in a few years but Royal like Princess maintains all their ships well.
