mamadee53 Posted January 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Our cruise disembarks in San Juan on a Sunday morning and we're planning to stay in a hotel Sunday night and fly home late afternoon on the next day so we'll have all day Sunday and the better part of Monday to see some sights, experience local culture and food, experience some night life, etc. Not interested in beaches since we will be coming off a one week cruise. Thinking about Old San Juan as opposed to other areas but I'm open to ideas. Any suggestions based on your experiences?
mnsawyer Posted February 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We were in San Juan on a cruise last year - cruise wasn't from there but one of our stops - there is a Sheraton steps from the dock - we are actually thinking about a cruise out of San Juan for this year. The only issue I would think is that you will be off the ship early on Sunday morning - am sure you could store your luggage at the hotel but won't be able to check in until later. Lots to do right there.
queen_jen Posted February 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2015 Stay on the Old San Juan Area. You will be on walking distances from all the fun things to do. Walk around, go to the Forts, eat at the restaurants, experience the night life, do some shopping. If you are tired from walking, hop on the free trolley. You don't need to get out of the Old San Juan Area to do any of this things. Of course there is so much stuff you can do in San Juan or in Puerto Rico. But you will need another vacation for all that.:) San Juan is a great city to spend a good day, and finish your vacation on a high note.
