Getting OBC on existing Cruise AND future cruise

I've read various instances where passengers booking a future cruise while onboard are getting OBC on the future reservation as well as on the cruise they're on. Is this done on a case by case basis? I've booked many cruises onboard & have never received OBC for the cruise I'm currently on.

Celebrity is currently offering a few types of onboard bookings. One is where you pick your ship and sailing date, and receive an onboard credit for the current booking. However, I'd be very careful on that option, as the onboard folks advised that this booking is non-refundable, as you are taking money up front.

 

The other type of booking is where you receive the OBC on the future cruise booked. Onboard, this is referred to as an "Old program" booking. This type of booking is fully refundable before final payment. There's also another type of booking, which is a future cruise certificate, where you do not pick your ship and sailing date.

 

I'm not entirely certain if you can get both a current and future OBC as I have no interest in the current sailing OBC... but, when there are multiple promotions running, I suppose that if you were to take the current cruise booking onboard OBC option, and then combine it with a 123 go type promo, where you choose the future OBC - perhaps that might be what you have in mind.

 

I realize this is a lot to digest - but I hope it makes sense, and is helpful !

This is the Instant OBC Program and went fleetwide 9/1/2014. It is an option with the Cruise Now program.

When we were on the Equinox TA I did a future booking and I was able to have both OBC's applied to the future booking with no problem. Only problem was that I tsfd that cruise to the Equinox Mardi Gras itinerary in 2017 which was 123 all inclusive. As a result I ended up with 3 OBC's:D which X frowned on so I had to drop one. Still happy with the amount I have left:)

Wow, yes, a lot to digest. So, it sounds like you don't have to take the add'l OBC on the current cruise but can add it to a future cruise, combinable w/the 123Go amenities? If that's the case, it also sounds like you can change the sail date, as Christine did. Does that sound correct?

If you book a cruise onboard, you can take the OBC on the current trip, then have 123go plus the onboard booking OBC on the future trip, right? I understand it's nonrefundable, but can you transfer it to another sailing, as I think Christine was saying she did?

 

Also, can you take advantage of this while on a RCCL ship?

I have 3 cruises booked, all of them were booked on board but none of them are the original itineraries I booked. You keep the onboard OBC's when you switch but then you fall under the booking rules for the new cruise. The "Cruise Now" and "Cruise Later" are combineable with one other offer.

You either take the onboard booking OBC on your current cruise or on the future cruise you booked plus the 123go on the future cruise. You do not get two onboard booking OBCs.

NOW I get it...Thank you. I really could've sworn I read of someone getting the OBC (for booking onboard) on both cruises, but maybe she meant the two OBCs on the future cruise was from booking onboard & 123Go.

I took my onboard booking of $300 OBC on the cruise I was on then went to the casino and took out the $300 so I can pay for the deposit I just booked. Yea it cost $15 in fees but I now have only $15 tied up in the cruise.

 

Also just booked another cruise on the phone with the $25 deposit so I now have a 7 & 10 night cruise booked with just $65 of my money tied up ($15 non refundable).

 

Not bad.
