Beaver1975 Posted January 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Are the Getaway's fireworks visible from the starboard side aft balconies?
Davechipp74 Posted January 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I've seen it mentioned in a few reviews for the Getaway, and the Breakaway that people were able to watch the fireworks from their balcony.
JohnIreland Posted January 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2015 It's port side on the breakaway. Presume the Getaway is the same.

finnie14 Posted January 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2015 On the getaway we watched the fireworks from cagneys 8th floor balcony. They had wicker sofa chairs that one of the employees told us to bring them closer to the balcony rail to be able to enjoy the show. It was great and we saw them front and center.i was pleasantly surprised that there were roughly 10-15 ppl there. 3DBeach Posted January 15, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2015 As other have said the fireworks are port side. We had aft cabin 9918 and could see part of them by turning and leaning lol! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
rstackjd Posted January 15, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2015 This sounds promising. There are four of us in a row on deck nine port side midships on the Getaway 2/21. Sounds like a fireworks party is in order!
CP Tech Posted January 15, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 15, 2015 They are launched to the port side as everyone has stated. They are shot from an area just behind the control booth for Spice H2O so I imagine an aft facing balcony would have issues seeing them, especially if you're center or starboard. Xmas week we just walked up to the deck above the pool and watched them then made out way to Spice.
Berniecruiser Posted January 15, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Just on the Getaway last week. We had the angled balcony 10296 & the shot them off the top deck directly above us on the port side.

rstackjd Posted January 16, 2015 #17 Share Posted January 16, 2015 We have a dinner reservation at 8:45 at Illusionarium on St. Maarten night. Does anyone know how long that dinner show is? Will we miss the Fireworks? Didn't realize that was Fireworks night when we booked it.
Pappion Posted January 18, 2015 #18 Share Posted January 18, 2015 The fireworks were on St Maarten night as others have said and we could see them from our aft balcony perfectly fine but we were port side, 11310.
cruise pup Posted January 18, 2015 #19 Share Posted January 18, 2015 I had a port side balcony. The fireworks are usually done off the port side but it depends on wind conditions, so it's not a definite. When I asked my cabin steward about the fireworks he said that if conditions were good I would be able to view them from my port balcony. So here is the outcome: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=42803112&postcount=

cruise pup Posted January 19, 2015 #21 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Nice Pics! What Deck were you one and what cabin number - if you recall Thanks! Cabin #9288 right near the aft elevators. This was the Breakaway, by the way, and not the Getaway. But I believe they are identical. They always played pranks on their teachers. LOL LOL We are on Deck 10, 10236 - the "aft" part of midships lol so I'm guessing, assuming the weather allows port side launching, we shoud be in a good spot!
