helicopter Posted August 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Has anyone put cash down for their Sea Pass deposit and was it an easy process? How much is required on 5 day? I've used credit cards but tore them all up last year and don't want another one. I've used my visa debit card in the past but they put a large hold on it that took a week to lift. This summer on Valor I used cash and it was really simple, boarded, went to Purser's desk, they ask how much I wanted to put down and that was it. On NCL years ago the Purser was at the counter at embarkation and took the money when checking in. I was just wondering how RCCL handles it. thanks

RCI does the same thing and I believe the limit is $200.00... But I have always but down more than that...
Luv4dacruise Posted August 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2005 I know on Celebrity you need put down nothing. You can charge whatever you want to the account and just pay it at the end of the cruise in cash.

CruznPrnces Posted August 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2005 We used cash in July. We started out with a $200 credit (for a cancelled cruise). Then every couple of days I would go down and put down another $200 or so. We never had a problem. But be carefull. My sister and her boyfriend did the same thing, but they never went down and put any more money down. Towards the end their card kept getting denied, and they had to go down several times to try and straighten it all out. I believe there is a $500 limit if you don't put any money down. It was embarrassing for them, and quite a hassle. For us, it waas very easy, and that's how I'm cruising from now on.
Bean2 Posted August 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 28, 2005 On our cruise to Canada on Enchantment, we used a credit card at the outset so that we wouldn't have trouble with denial, but every time my husband won some cash in the casino, I would go to the Guest Relations desk and put it towards our account. It was very simple to do, and substantially reduced our overall bill.
