They bring they tray inside when we answered the door. You choose a time frame, ex: 7:00 - 7:30 am It would always arrive at the beginning of the time frame chosen ex 7:00am except Debarkation day which was about 40 mins later than we anticipated Love love love room service for breakfast! Gives me a chance to put robe on and grab the tip I put nearby the night before. For lunch or snack, usually just a knock on the door. We had breakfast room service three times on our last cruise on the Star. No one called ahead. I wonder if it has anything to do with "Do Not Disturb" vs. "Welcome" on the little spinning wheel outside your door.
