trvlbug08 Posted January 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2015 I am new to princess. Have booked 3 mid-ship inside cabins on the Aloha Deck. is it worth it to upgrade to a balcony cabin? I have been reading about such tiny balconies and I am not sure. Final payment is due Tuesday. What would you do?
Pam in CA Posted January 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2015 I am new to princess. Have booked 3 mid-ship inside cabins on the Aloha Deck. is it worth it to upgrade to a balcony cabin? I have been reading about such tiny balconies and I am not sure. Final payment is due Tuesday. What would you do?The balconies are small but not tiny. They're just under a foot shallower than the balconies on other Princess ships. The decision really is yours and how much it's worth it to you. When I booked my Royal cruise last September, the difference between an inside and a balcony for a single was over $2,300. I couldn't justify that so I booked a sideways inside. Cabins went on sale and the difference was less than $500 (as a single) for a 17-day cruise so I took it. I had an "obstructed" view balcony on Emerald deck aft of the aft elevators and I LOVED the location. Only obstruction was looking forward. I had a clear view looking out and aft. The bottom line is whether the difference is what you're willing to pay. A balcony is nice for the light, cabin layout and the ability to go out on the balcony even if it's to see what's going on outside.

If there's a fire door in the hallway (you can see them on the deck plans), the doors in the partitions can't be opened. If there isn't, they can. Just ask your cabin steward.
