Tortola excursion guests wanted

Tradizney

Recommended Posts

We are trying to get a few more people to join us on the Aristocat 1/2 day sail. Jan 26, 2006. Most snorkeling that I have found are charters, so with enough people (you contact them and they'll include you and you take care of your payments) they'll do a trip for us.

NORMAN ISLAND DAY SAIL.

We would set sail from Road Town, Tortola at 9-00 am across the St Frances

Drake Channel to Norman Island to snorkel the "Caves", at the "Caves" you

will swim amongst shoals of colorful tropical fish and you can snorkel into

the caves.

After your snorkel we provide snacks and our famous rum punch.

If time permits we would then sail to the "Bight" on Norman Island for our

final swim or snorkel before sailing back to Road Town, returning around 1

pm (or at the time you set).

Thanks

Tracey

When I've been to Tortola and taken a day sail to Norman Island, there were always others (non-cruisers) who planned such a trip. I'd ask the Captain if he couldn't pair you up with other sailors. It's a lovely trip and the caves at Norman are special.

Try this site: http://www.b-v-i.com/Charter/daysails.htm#Patouche%20II

We've sailed on the Patouche II but I think there are different owners now. Heard good things about the Dual Bliss and Catppouli (sp?). If the sail is on a catamaran or large sailboat across Drake's channel to Norman or any of the surrounding islands, it'll be delightful. Or you can take the ferry to Virgin Gorda and a taxi to the Baths for an unusual and wonderful experience. But if you choose this one, go as early as possible as it gets crowded after about 10 AM. We've been to the BVIs many times and it's one of our favorite, non-commercialized places to vacation with lovely people. But don't expect elegant shopping or St. Thomas/San Juan types of excursions. Different atmosphere completely - reason we go there.
