myateam Posted March 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2015 I am a single parent traveling with my 5 boys and a friend of theirs. Trying to find inexpensive but fun things to do at one or two ports. They are students and need to keep it within means. I have traveled to Cozumel when they were younger and did shops same with grand cayman. I guess I can say we are spoiled at Nassau we pay 10 for round trip taxi to Atlantis FREE beautiful beach and enjoy 25 each for the banana boat and usually each chip in for time on the jet ski's it's a very inexpensive port stop for doing your own activities. Does anyone know of close inexpensive beach fun on any of the ports I'm visiting ?[falmouth, grand cayman and Cozumel]. Thanks for any replies. :):D
Daddyfto Posted March 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2015 The hang out at Atlantis for free is a fond memory! Paradise Beach Club in Cozumel is great a small entry fee ...pay extra for food and drinks and also a fun pass if you want to use the water toys...Moby Dick Stingray tour in Grand Cayman is well worth the $45....or just hang on 7 mile beach... cruiser fanatic Posted March 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Falmouth: Can't help you since I haven't been there. Grand Cayman: 7 mile beach. You only pay for your taxi ride. Cozumel: Paradise Beach. It costs a few dollars for a lounge chair, taxi ride, and they ask that you spend $10 per person on food/drink.
helicopter Posted March 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2015 In Grand Cayman for only 2 or 3 dollars you can take the bus (mini van) to Hell and you get to see some of the sights along the way. The bus (mini vans) are a short walking distance from the dock, they drop you off and come back around and pick you up. Mail a letter to back home post marked from Hell, Grand Cayman. firemanbobswife Posted March 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Mr Sancho's in Cozumel has both free and all inclusive sides. We did the free part before and we're going to try the AI this time. It's a nice beach and everyone had fun going in the ocean. Check it out online. thomarvin Posted March 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2015 i think the HMC, Freeport and Grand Turk are the cheapest. You dont have to spend $$ at any of them.

Rare Tapi Posted March 4, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Just a heads up, but the last time we were at the Atlantis (summer 2014), they have restricted the "free" areas even further. They have employees checking key cards at the exit of the casino. Pretty disappointed since before we could make it farther down and closer to the aquarium and outdoor areas overlooking the water park. The only port we spent money at these was at Senor frogs  Edited March 4, 2015 by thomarvin

myateam Posted March 4, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Thank you everyone for your responses, please keep them coming I am writing all options down. I love this board would never book a cruise without it! On any of the beaches does anyone know if they also have banana boats and jet skis? The boys ages are from 17-20 . myateam Posted March 5, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted March 5, 2015 Also we were in Nassau last May and went on the free beach. We usually get dropped off at the beach entrance by taxi and walk. It's beautiful and stress free!! Will miss it this trip but looking forward to other ports.:)
JMHAM1 Posted March 5, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 5, 2015 Try researching these ports on the port of call boards. We are a family of 8 so I have to make every dollar count. Also found some good things to do by researching TripAdvisor. Sometimes, if you book things through the website or in advance you get discounts. I have also hooked up with others in our roll call and booked "group" tickets for a discount that way. I thought Grand Cayman was expensive all the way around so we ended up going to the turtle farm. Probably not something you would want to do with the older boys. I'm thinking for teens, the beach or an all inclusive with a beach/pool/waterslide option would be the best. Happy Planning!! pkmason Posted March 5, 2015 #14 Share Posted March 5, 2015 Put in another vote for Paradise Beach in Cozumel! Lots of great toys/slides/iceberg in the ocean, but you do have to pay extra for the wrist band. My kids are younger but love it. We had a great banana boat ride our last trip. I can't remember how much but we got a break for filling the boat.

mom4mom Posted March 5, 2015 #16 Share Posted March 5, 2015 I really like going to Chukanaab Park in Cozumel. It has a beach, snorkeling, pool, sea lion show, botanical gardens with Mayan replicas, hammocks. You can get a coupon online for $2 off so it runs about $20 each.
