tdmullins Posted March 21, 2015 Author #51 Share Posted March 21, 2015 About 6:30 the next morning I woke up and went to the restroom. I realized that we were coming into port and was turning to back into the pier. I went out on the balcony and got this awesome shot of the sun coming up over Nassau. We had a pretty lazy day planned. We were going to walk to a new restaurant near the pier and then come back and enjoy the ship. My original plans were to catch a cab and go to the fish fry and eat. But then Marc Walker the CD from the Enchantment posted pics from Lukka Kairi, that had just opened in January. The food looked really good and the view could not be beat. So my plans changed. It was a perfect day to walk anywhere. But it was a short walk just past the straw market. And the view was awesome! We ordered the Bahamian bread for an appetizer. And the conch fritters. The bread was good, but not awesome, I enjoyed the rosemary on top and the honey butter that was served with it. The conch fritters were very good. tdmullins Posted March 21, 2015 Author #52 Share Posted March 21, 2015 We both ordered the lobster roll for an entree. My bun was a little burnt but it was still good. Not as good as any lobster roll I had in Maine. I think it was because I like my lobster in bigger chunks, and this one was shredded pretty fine. The only real hiccup of the whole visit was waiting on our check. We waited a long time until we finally asked for it, like a real long time. But our server seemed very busy and I didn't want to make her feel rushed. But she said that they are told not to bring them until we asked because they don't want the customers to feel rushed..lol. But then I had to ask for our change back, I had given her $100 on a $60 food bill. Surely didn't think I was that big of a tipper..lol. We kinda took our time walking back to the ship, just enjoying the day. We watched these guys make ceviche and conch salad right from their boat. We just slowly walked back and took pics along the way.

tdmullins Posted March 22, 2015 Author #54 Share Posted March 22, 2015 When we got back to the cabin, our disembark stuff was waiting on us. At that point it starts getting real that you will have to actually leave the ship! We headed to the top decks to get some pictures of Nassau and some pics around the ship. We eventually made our way back to our balcony to watch sail away. There wasn't really any pier runners but we did get to watch the police stop a wave runner that was rider pretty close to the ship. tdmullins Posted March 22, 2015 Author #57 Share Posted March 22, 2015 We stayed out on our balcony and watched until the harbor pilot finished and jumped on the pilot boat. Can you guess what I did then? Yep I went to the Promenade Cafe for a snack. I loved, loved, loved the ham and cheese on croissant. The cheese was a brie and brie just happens to be my favorite cheese. I ate a few of these this cruise..lol We decided to hit the Windjammer for our last dinner on the ship. It was Mexican tonight. I decided to try the chocolate Mousse station tonight. And it was delicious!!!! I really wish I had tried this earlier in the week. The Windjammer was pretty busy tonight. I think a lot of people decided to eat there on their last night! After dinner we went back to the cabin to pack. When I got there my platinum pins were waiting on us. I did end up asking the Concierge on the last day about them. For the first time on a cruise I had not really unpacked our big suitcase so packing went pretty quick. We set our suitcases out around 9pm and there were a few other cases out in the hallway. This time of the cruise depresses me..lol. To me there is no sadder sight then seeing the suitcases start popping up in the hallway. After doing that I went to find my room steward, Elizabeth. I wanted to say goodbye and give her my WOW envelope with an extra tip. She was really good to us and I wanted her to have extra. She kissed me, and kept hugging me like she was having a hard time saying good bye too...lol. I did spend a little bit more time in the Casino, but lost $20 really fast and quit just as fast..lol. We spent some time in the Crown and Kettle before turning in for the night.
tdmullins Posted March 22, 2015 Author #58 Share Posted March 22, 2015 The next morning we got up and ready to head out. I did go out on our balcony for a little bit to vlog, and watched some dolphins playing in the water. Disembarktion for a suite was very easy. We met at the concierge lounge and he escorted us to a separate "bong" machine. We walked right off to the terminal. I found my luggage super fast. If anybody ever watched my new luggage vlog you will know that my goal was for them to stand out among everyone else's and it did! There was porters everywhere asking if they could help us. I never use the porters but one of them informed if we let him take our stuff we could skip the long line waiting for customs. So we thought hey, let's see if this is true. IT WAS!! We were through customs in under 5 minutes. And the long had gotten pretty long by then. He took our bags all the way to our car in the parking garage. Most definitely worth the tip we gave him. Here is my last vlog from the cruise. We loved the Explorer. I do feel like some things were different because of the dry dock that was coming up, but nothing that effected the cruise at all. My only true complaint of the whole cruise...the increased bar prices and decrease in bar service. There was so much stuff on the Explorer we didn't get to enjoy. 1. Movie Theatre- there was never anything we really wanted to watch. 2. Skating Rink- We had just watched the show on the Freedom and didn't feel the need to really go watch this time. 3. MDR- We kept it lazy and simple with dining 4. Johnny Rockets- Had it on the Freedom, didn't feel a real urge to go this time. 5. Viking Crown lounge- Just never made our way up there. And there are others I am sure I am not thinking about. This is only making me more excited for my cruise in January on her sister ship the Navigator. Thanks for sailing with me and I hope you enjoyed my review!!!
SherriZ366 Posted March 22, 2015 #59 Share Posted March 22, 2015 Great review!! We sailed on EX last December so it was fun to see the ship from your eyes. To avoid the sad hallway scene with suitcases on the last night, I would love to do a back-to-back so I could gloat about not having to get off the next day. LOL

tdmullins Posted April 23, 2015 Author #64 Share Posted April 23, 2015 When we first started cruising I choose shorter ones because we were only able to be gone for short periods of time. My husband also said once that the thought more than 5 days would be too much. But know he has totally changed his mind. He loved the 7 days and said he would enjoy it if it was even longer. He LOVES sea days.

Missus Makkem Posted May 28, 2015 #68 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Also, one quick question, you said the night club was being removed after the drydock, do you know what it would be instead? It is now Giovannis table and the night club is held in the Viking lounge.
