Ashtonwa Posted March 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2015 I found an excursion for cabo to book for my family but it says minimum age is 8. My dd is 7 1/2. They said they check documentation and she wouldn't be able to go! Most ship excursions for cabo say age 8 and up. Feeling frustrated. The same one booked off ship will cost $110 more total and they accept her fine...would be interesting to see if it was the Sam company. Her dad would share the kayak and would paddle out just fine with her. Grrrrr, has anyone fudged and gotten away with it or do they really check it on the ship? I can load it in my cart online just fine.
shepherdqueen Posted March 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2015 I do not see how you could fudge her age given that they will have her documentation, either birth certificate or passport, to show her true age.
Ashtonwa Posted March 23, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 23, 2015 Why will it let me buy her an excursion if they know it?
watchdiva Posted March 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2015 Sometimes age restrictions are in place for a reason...not sure why you would want to do an end run around the excursion guidelines.
lisakoivu Posted March 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2015 They let me buy waverunner for my not quite 18 year old son, then pulled it later.
djmess Posted March 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2015 You may want to wait and book when you get on the ship. I remember a few years ago when my son was in that 5-7 age range, we wanted to do a shore tour and I noticed the age restriction. Pointed it out to the shore tour people and they said it would not be a problem. I was like, what if they won't let us participate. They said, we'll refund your tour. We got to participate, but I was nervous until we got on the boat. I think it was a catamaran/snorkel tour. Can't remember the specifics. So bottom line, my suggestion is wait and ask. Or if it is something you don't want to miss and going privately allows you child's age, then pay the extra and just enjoy!
pieshops Posted March 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2015 A private excursion is more apt not check documents if booked and take your word for it. We tried this many years back and the day before was told by NCL no go. We only book, private now
Ashtonwa Posted March 24, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted March 24, 2015 The non cruise excursion was fine with her age as I asked about it already so I guess we will go with that one. Thanks all! It will be fun!
