evfred Posted March 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2015 When we return to Amsterdam from our Baltic cruise on the Silhouette, we plan to go to the Hague for a few days, before returning to Centraal and on to the airport. Does anyone know if there is luggage storage at Centraal? It would make it a lot easier for us. Thanks!!
Ine Posted March 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2015 There is, but not only up to a certain size of the lockers, also it seems only up to 72 hrs. http://www.ns.nl/en/travellers/about-your-trip/travelling-by-train/facilities-at-the-station/luggage.html Maybe you can go to Schiphol airport on your way to The Hague and leave it there? They have better choices it seems. http://www.schiphol.nl/Travellers/AtSchiphol/Luggage/LuggageService/LuggageLockers.htm
UKBayern Posted March 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2015 There are lockers at central station, but sometimes they are full, and also beware of maximum sizes (cruise passengers tend to have larger suitcases than average). Like Ine says, there are more options at the airport, and the trains from Amsterdam to The Hague stop at Schiphol anyway.
aquilegia Posted March 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2015 We used Drop & Go, which is an independent luggage storage facility about 5 minutes walk from Centraal station. They were reasonably priced and we found them very good.
FreestyleNovice Posted April 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2015 Would not choose Amsterdam CS but Schiphol indeed. Save yourself the hassle, the crowds. Going back from The Hague to Amsterdam CS and going back to Schiphol will be around 40 to 60 minutes, depends on how fast you can retrieve your luggage and get a Schiphol bound train. Getting out on Schiphol, staffed lockers, larger sizes, saver, cleaner and using a free luggage trolley, will cost you under 30-40 minutes, incl. getting back on a The Hague train. Could be done in 20 if you're fast and have a good timing with the trains in and out. The depot is in between Departures 1 and 2 where you can take an elevator down to the depot. Also accesible from the Plaza level where the train station is. From train platform to the departure hall is a few minutes, all indoors.
