D+cruiser Posted March 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2015 Can anyone explain what Diamond Plus members can expect on the OASIS re: the Concierge Lounge, Diamond Club, etc.? I am totally confused. Does the CL still exist? Do they still offer breakfast and lunch to order? Are mixed drinks free? If not, what is?
maggieq Posted March 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2015 What was the concierge lounge is now the diamond lounge. The suite lounge for suite peeps and pinnacle members is where the Viking crown lounge was.
bilyclub Posted March 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2015 The CL is no more. It has turned into the Diamond Lounge. There is now a Suite Lounge up where the Viking Crown was. Still happy hour drinks, but no more breakfast or lunch like when it was the CL.
emmy Posted March 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2015 The lounge that Diamond and D+ can use is called Diamond Club located on deck 11. It does have two levels but the entrance is on Deck 11 They serve a continental breakfast in the morning and drinks from 5 - 8:30 pm with hot snacks. These are photos from my Feb 2016 sailing The last photo is the upstairs area.
Trekker954 Posted March 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2015 So that sounds like D+ have been demoted, is this correct?
dz9yvr Posted March 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2015 So that sounds like D+ have been demoted, is this correct? Yes, that would be a reasonable conclusion.
Kokomo91165 Posted March 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2015 So that sounds like D+ have been demoted, is this correct? Very much so. And the funny thing is if you look at the reasoning behind the April 2009 change to eliminate Diamonds from the CL, they cited overcrowding as hindering the guest experience. I guess RCL forgets Oasis can accommodate 6400 pax where overcrowding in the DL can be a serious issue. Meanwhile, the suite lounge and coastal kitchen is grossly underutilized upstairs. Oh well. Really, there are over 80 full suites on oasis which now use the suite lounge where they used to use the Cl. So there could be 160+ people not using the diamond club making room for D's. Of course there are around 18 bars, some with lounges, on oasis where you can use your drink coupons

Cindy Posted March 30, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 30, 2015 This remains confusing Can someone fill in the blanks on access and Food & Drink in each Diamond Lounge Diamond, D+, and Pinnacle C&A Members -- Continental Breakfast and the usual Happy Hour with hot and cold finger foods. Coastal Kitchen Suites and Pinnacles -- Cooked to order Breakfast, Lunch on Sea Days, and Dinner. Suite Lounge Suites and Pinnacles -- Continental Breakfast, Buffet Lunch on Port days Days, and drinks. Free drink hours seem to vary as they decide how best to utilize the new concept. D+cruiser Posted March 30, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Thank you all for the replies, photos, and info. We loved the CL on the Allure and Oasis the way it was before, when you could order breakfast or lunch off the menu. Setsail -- you mentioned drink coupons. Does the Oasis now issue drink coupons? We had drink coupons on the Celebrity Eclipse last year, but never on RCI. How do the coupons work?

We had drink coupons on the Celebrity Eclipse last year, but never on RCI. How do the coupons work? Drink coupons are now issued to all guests at Diamond level and above in the Crown & Anchor society. Each person gets 3 coupons per day, that can be used at any bar from about 5pm to 8:30pm. Drinks are limited to the same types you can get in the DL or CL. Unused coupons expire each evening and cannot be accumulated.

We had drink coupons on the Celebrity Eclipse last year, but never on RCI. How do the coupons work? We were recently on the Allure and used our coupons at several bars. Our favorite bar was the Rising Tide. Boleros was quick and not busy during coupon hours. We also used them in the Comedy Club and theater. The coupons were nice to have on the big ships. (We are Pinnacle) It doesn't appear in the restaurant list in the cruise planner.
Janet524 Posted March 30, 2015 #19 Share Posted March 30, 2015 So that sounds like D+ have been demoted, is this correct? IMO the location of the new Diamond Lounge (formerly the CL) is much more desirable than the new Suite/Pinnacle Lounge. As D+ we've enjoyed the area as the CL and will enjoy it just as much now that it's called DL. For us, the continental breakfast is all that we ate anyway, and we were not that enthused about the lunch selections. So for us, it's not a demotion... It's pretty much the same except the name has changed.

yogimax Posted March 30, 2015 #23 Share Posted March 30, 2015 we were not that enthused about the lunch selections. I think many would disagree. We loved the lunch selections and the ability to eat in relative peacefulness while enjoying a great view and glass of wine.
KansasK Posted March 30, 2015 #24 Share Posted March 30, 2015 We were recently on the Allure and used our coupons at several bars. Our favorite bar was the Rising Tide. Boleros was quick and not busy during coupon hours. We also used them in the Comedy Club and theater. The coupons were nice to have on the big ships. We were on the Oasis and used some or all of our coupons each day. We liked the Schooner Bar and stopped there before dinner. We did go to the Diamond Club a few times before dinner. The first level tended to be full. The second level had a lot of room and a waiter came right up to take our order.
jamesr3939 Posted March 31, 2015 #25 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Just off the Oasis two weeks ago in an OS. The term "coupons" is a misnomer as everything is loaded on your SS pass. The compass said they are attempting to "paper" reduction. SL was awesome we spent a lot of time up there having drinks. CK dinner was excellent and we didn't have a problem either walking in and getting a table or making a reservation for 30 - 45 minutes out. There was one night when I had booked for two of us earlier in the day for 7:00 PM without any problem. My brother and SIL show up around 6:00 to get a table and our told 9:00 is the earliest. Then he goes back and changes my 7:00 PM to table for four with no problem.
