Threechicks Posted July 14, 2015 #26 Share Posted July 14, 2015 I forgot to mention that I had an 8 am flight and still had time to have breakfast in the Business Class lounge after arriving at the airport.
Paulchili Posted July 14, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) I'm the one who disembarked at 4 am. As long as the ship is docked overnight you can leave whenever you wish. You have special coloured tags for your luggage that shows you are travelling independently and what time you are likely to leave the ship. You are asked this question when you fill out your disembarkation form. You will find your bags fairly close to the exit out of the terminal. There are Oceania staff members there to assist you. As I mentioned in my earlier post I was also provided with a wheelchair. There is no passport control as you are still in the European Zone. Thank you - good to know. I guess the immigration is cleared on arrival the day before - thus this is different than disembarking this early on day of arrival ? Threechicks Posted July 15, 2015 #29 Share Posted July 15, 2015 The ship usually arrives around 8 am so early disembarkation that day is almost impossible. I don't know what clearance a ship needs but passengers have no immigration to go through as long as the country you just left and the country you just entered are part of the European Community. That's why you can keep your passport while doing a Med cruise.

We rarely need to carry our passport on any Med cruise - in the Baltics yes and when we were going through the Baltics and the EU but in the Med, we have rarely been required to carry it although I always take a colour copy. readteacher1 Posted August 10, 2015 #32 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We had a very early flight out of Barcelona on the second day (ship was overnight in port). Everything went like clockwork. We left the ship around 4 am. As anyone who has been to Barcelona knows it is a long way from the ship to the outside of the cruise terminal. I have mobility issues so was dreading the long walk. At the first turn I was met by a staff member with a wheelchair. He took me down to my luggage, arranged for a porter and then escorted me right to a taxi. No traffic that early so we arrived at the airport in very little time. We are scheduled on a flight out of BCN at 6:45 am on the second day in Barcelona on the Riviera. I figure we will have to be at the airport by 4:45 am....would you book a transfer with Oceania at $79 pp or get a taxi...would they be available at that hour?....or book with a limo service to meet us at the pier at 4:00 am? thank you for any words of advice you can give us! For me, I would be doing a private transfer or pre-book a cab. It doesn't cost $79 to get to the airport even for one person! I like to be in control of arrangements, especially that early in the morning and with an air flight involved.

You can always ask the concierge to pre book a taxi for the morning or make arrangements the day before with one at the dock to pick you up early
hgrca Posted August 10, 2015 #35 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We just got off Oceania Riviera last Tuesday morning. We were off the ship around 8:15 and got our luggage right away. We also were able to get a taxi immediately and were at the airport by 8:45 well in advance of our flight which was at noon. The Barcelona airport is congested and I would give yourself plenty of time.
