Tudorcruisers Posted April 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2015 I was under the impression that guests in a Sky suite do not have access to Michaels Club concierge lounge. I just read info on a site showing that US and Canadian citizens when booking Sky suite will have this access. I'm UK and we were told we didn't have this. Would love clarification from anyone as to whether this is correct or not? Thanks.

Those who may have access include Celebrity Suites or higher, Zenith Loyalty members, desiginated VIPs and on one cruise, Blue Chip passengers. Orator Posted April 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) Who are Blue Chip passengers? Folks who spend lots of time in the Casino. Once saw a check in line at the port that indicated "Suites, Zenith, and Blue Chip.". Asked about that and was told by Michael's Club Concierge that they receive special VIP treatment on desiginated cruises. Tudorcruisers Posted April 10, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted April 10, 2015 This is the info I copied across which definitely shows Sky Suite S2 and mentions access to Michaels club. The only bit not copied over as it was at the bottom of page was where it stated only for US and Canadian guests. Cabin Category S2 Sky Suite 2 Location: Deck 9 , Deck 8 , Deck 6 Square footage: 251 sq ft Balcony square footage: 57 sq ft Occupancy: Up to 4 guests Amenities: Private balcony, sitting area, some with sofa bed, two convertible lower beds, private bathroom with bathtub and shower, complimentary use of bathrobes, hair dryer, thermostat-controlled air conditioning, private safe, minibar, TV with VCR/CD player. Clearly someone simply miscopied the text from the higher suite categories. Sky Suites do not have access.
DaisyFire Posted April 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2015 There is much that is changing on the Celebrity site these days - and I suspect that this is just a copy/paste (content management) error. Here are the descriptions for the Sky Suite and Celebrity Suite categories from Suite Class information section on the US site (access to Michael's Club is listed only for Celebrity Suite (based on these 2 categories only): Features and Highlights (copied from Sky Suite) European-trained butler service to help you pack/unpack, make spa appointments, dinner reservations, shore excursions and more Reserved theatre seating on formal nights Full in-suite breakfast, lunch & dinner service Afternoon canapés and tea service Complimentary daily in-suite espresso and cappuccino One complimentary dinner for all guests in suite (cruise of 6 or 7 nights) and two complimentary dinners for all guests in suite (cruise of 8 nights or more) in a specialty restaurant* Priority check-in & debarkation Priority tender service Main & specialty restaurant seating preferences Luxury bath amenities Plush bathrobe Oversized 100% cotton bath towels Pillow menu Fresh Flowers Spacious veranda Hansgrohe® showerhead Coming April 2015: Dedicated private restaurant reserved exclusively for all Suite Class guests morning, noon and night Features and Highlights (copied from Celebrity Suite) European-trained butler service to help you pack/unpack, make your spa appointments, dinner reservations, shore excursions and more Priority check-in & debarkation Reserved theatre seating on formal nights Full in-suite breakfast, lunch & dinner service Priority tender service One complimentary dinner for all guests in suite (cruise of 6 or 7 nights) and two complimentary dinners for all guests in suite (cruise of 8 nights or more) in a specialty restaurant Complimentary daily in-suite espresso and cappuccino Afternoon canapés and tea service Main & specialty restaurant seating preferences Luxury bath amenities & plush bathrobe Oversized 100% cotton bath towels Pillow menu Spacious veranda Hansgrohe® showerhead Coming April 2015: Dedicated private restaurant reserved exclusively for all Suite Class guests morning, noon and night Access to the private Michael's Club
Tudorcruisers Posted April 10, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted April 10, 2015 I just think it was extremely misleading for "Expedia" to have this on their site as it would definitely have enticed me to book thinking I was getting all these privileges. WpgCruise Posted April 10, 2015 #12 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Given the error is on a Travel Agents site, and has nothing to do with Celebrity, my question to you is have you taken it up with the one responsible for the error ?

Yorkshire-Pudding Posted April 11, 2015 #15 Share Posted April 11, 2015 To be fair to the OP, there is another major UK cruise TA who also has access to Michael's included as a Sky Suite perk (not just an S2). It just seems too much of a coincidence for both Expedia and this other site to both be showing incorrect information without it originating from Celebrity.

miched Posted April 11, 2015 #17 Share Posted April 11, 2015 You could probably pay for a premium drink pack and still have money in your pocket for the difference between a Celebrity suite and Sky suite and be able to drink anywhere instead of being confined in a dark interior lounge. happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞

rockdoctor Posted April 12, 2015 #19 Share Posted April 12, 2015 You make it sound like a dark cave......lol IMHO, that's what Michael's is, an uninviting, dark interior space.
bobsfamily Posted April 12, 2015 #20 Share Posted April 12, 2015 IMHO, that's what Michael's is, an uninviting, dark interior space. On the Connie the club has a window and door access to the deck, which the wonderful people staffing the club will happily bring you drinks while you sit/lounge on. Not dark or interior! cynbar Posted April 12, 2015 #21 Share Posted April 12, 2015 IMHO, that's what Michael's is, an uninviting, dark interior space. We were on Reflection, and didn't find Michael's to be a dark, uninviting place at all. Although we had the beverage package, we loved Michael's for the excellent service, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice alternative for us from the crowded, busy lounges where it is often hard to find a good seat or get a prompt drink during peak time. Walk into Michael's and your chosen drink will be ready with a smile. Now, whether this is worth the added cost is another argument entirely. Not dark or interior! I agree with you, Bob. I spent many hours of peace and quiet in Michael's Club while on Connie in November. Whenever I saw my smoking buddies out on Deck 4, I'd go outside and visit with them. It was NEITHER dark NOR interior.... I will see what Michael's Club is like on Summit in less than 2 weeks, as I upgraded to a CS.

Man_Overboard Posted April 12, 2015 #24 Share Posted April 12, 2015 We are in a RS on Connie's Crossing. It is now 4:10 pm and I am all alone in the gorgeous Michaels Club having JW Black, rocks. When I want a cigar I simply exit the club and puff away right outside the door with Mr Walker in my hand. Superb service & top shelf staff. Please keep telling folks that MC is a dreary dark place unsuitable for the 99%. 😊
