eandj Posted April 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) There are some nice hotel chains in the Blue Lagoon airport area. You'll have to check those for individual shuttle services. The area has a few restaurants in walking distance. Edited April 11, 2015 by eandj

JohninDC Posted April 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2015 Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Sofitel, all in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA offer free airport shuttles and are fine if all you want is a clean room and nearby dinner/shopping options. Taxi to POM the next day will run about $26-7 on the meter + tip.
zqvol Posted April 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2015 Miami is not a third world location. Of course there are plenty of clean hotels near the airport with shuttles to the airport.

ramidon1 Posted April 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2015 There is a Marriott "campus" right there with a full service Marriott & I believe a Residence Inn & a Courtyard...all sharing a shuttle to the airport. I have stayed at the Marriott several times but all the properties there looked great.

Ruthk Posted April 13, 2015 #14 Share Posted April 13, 2015 Hi - I highly recommend Hampton Inn, Blue Lagoon - used by lots of cruise people, secure parking and clean!

Rare crewsweeper Posted April 13, 2015 #16 Share Posted April 13, 2015 There's also the La Quinta which does shuttles to the airport and to POM and on the return to POM will take you to the airport. It's an older facility and has a bit of wear (if that qualifies for OP's definition of "dirty"). But the rooms are clean and the front desk is very friendly. Breakfast isn't Chowhound worthy but filling enough to hold you til you board the ship. Coffee's decent too.
