floridaglen Posted May 2, 2015 #101 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Thanks for clarification. Doesn´t sound very good. We have made the bookings based on menus and seems that now the whole Dynamic Dining has been completely trashed. Neither has been any information send to the booked passengers. Maitre D and guest relations will have a quite a lot things to explain. We will have 12 day cruise - but have already made all planning between complimentary and speciality restaurants - complimentary ones based on menu. At the moment it looks as though on a 12 night cruise you might only have these menus twice. That's what happened on the maiden voyage which was 8 nights. That's what happened on the maiden voyage which was 8 nights. Already edited my previous comment. Seems that samplers were used only on 3 day cruise. On longer ones they will have proper menus. Wouldn't like even if it was only used once, since that wasn't the original idea of Dynamic Dining - at least they should then email the information before the cruise, so people could adjust their reservations if needed. I agree. But as we don't sail until September I'm expecting it to all change again by then!! ;)
Jules12Wed Posted May 2, 2015 #104 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Also take no notice of the Royal IQ app. I looked on it to see places to go for lunch and saw American Icon lunch menu and fancied the burger as burgers in windjammer are not nice so got changed only to find its not open for lunches. So much misunderstanding!!

That's what happened on the maiden voyage which was 8 nights. Yup, the 8 night maiden voyage had the taster menu twice completely unannounced. I can see the point of the taster menus on 3 night sampler cruises because you aren't going to be able to try all 4 restaurants. It will be interesting to see if they keep using them on longer cruises.

Jules of The Seas Posted May 9, 2015 #111 Share Posted May 9, 2015 We are on Anthem, 22nd May for 10 nights. Had email yesterday to tell us we would have a `Royal Evening`, on our second night (more often on longer voyages). It will be attended by the Captain (Wow!!) and we should `Dress your Best`. Presumably this will be when we have the Royal menu. We are booked into American Icon, so hopefully the Steak will still be available. I`m sure they will get it right eventually. Have managed to book iFly, (for our boys and their wives!), but can`t book anything else until on ship. Will write a review when we get back. Bobal Posted May 9, 2015 #112 Share Posted May 9, 2015 I didn't want to try all four restaurants I wanted to go to two I decided on via menu and chops I was very disappointed they did this Same here - I wanted to eat from the proper menus in the restaurants I chose based on my food preferences and from trying something a bit different, not from someone's idea of what the 'best' of each restaurants were. I made my feelings known in the feedback questionnaire. We didn't even have the benefit of being forewarned about the menu changes by RCCL - we only found out a couple of days before, via discussions on these boards. Let's face facts that's pretty much the ONLY way you find out about things concerning RCCL cruises.

Paulette3028 Posted May 14, 2015 #116 Share Posted May 14, 2015 Can someone who is on Anthem let me know who the Activity Manager is on your cruise? Is it Amy Tripp?
saffikins Posted May 16, 2015 #117 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Not currently on AOS, but we were on the 3 night sailing a couple of weeks ago... It was Amy Tripp then, so I imagine she is still there
Paulette3028 Posted May 16, 2015 #118 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks....great to know....she was very good when she was filling in on Indy as the AM back in February....and I knew she was transferred to Anthem.
Jules of The Seas Posted May 28, 2015 #119 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Hi everyone, on The fantastic Anthem now. Just left Lanzarote heading for Vigo. Yes Amy Tripp is on the ship. To allay all your worries. The food, ship, entertainment, staff are superb. Don' t worry too much about the dynamic dining. The food in all of the restaurants is great. The surf and turf in American Icon is to die for. Don't worry if you want to change one night, if you go reasonably early they will accommodate you. Everyone is making an effort to dress smartly in the evenings, but not too many Dinner suits. The only time you really need a jacket is in the Grande. Some wear ties some don't. If you haven't got a jacket they give you one. Cabins are great, shower is excellent with a proper door. Kettle in cabin, with tea bags but no coffee sachets. None on ship as coffee is in big containers around the decks. Nice coffee too. If you on select wine package All wine at 9 dollars, plus prosecco at 9 dollars, plus all beers, except one draught in Michaels bar are free. Nice wine too. Enjoy it, we are. Dombo Posted May 29, 2015 #124 Share Posted May 29, 2015 We were on AOS for 3 nights at the beginning of May. It was the first time cruising with 16 month old daughter. Although have done 7 RCCLs before, was the first with child and didn't really take too much notice of the Adventure Ocean etc. We were already booked to sail on 20/06 for my 30th birthday so was a good excuse for a "fact finding mission"! So glad we did; Had a fab 3 days. The staff were the best we've had. It seems their training programme has changed because we thought there was a real difference. Suite att was excellent, far better than normal. We thought the food was superb, even though we had the sample menus on the 2 nights we ate in the complimentary restaurants. Adventure Ocean was excellent, didn't use the drop off service, but the play area was lovely and the staff were great with the little ones. There is a splash pool for babies who are still in nappies which was good news. Our only gripe was the cot supplied in the suite. If I had to sleep in it, I guess I would have been uncomfortable, but our daughter didn't seem to mind. I will be bringing a mattress topper from home though to make it more comfortable for her. I did premium package which worked out really well for me. My wife's not a big drinker so we just paid for what she wanted. I did get a bit wound up that some people seemed to be "sharing" the packages though. I guess this may have been because there were a lot of stag/hen party types that haven't cruised before. Can't wait for 20th! Happy sailing everyone!
