doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2015 I never thought I would ever get this call. I just don't have that type of luck. Now to figure out when to go?

winddawn Posted May 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2015 I never thought I would ever get this call. I just don't have that type of luck. Now to figure out when to go? I've never heard of Carnival offering free cabins over the phone. All of mine have either come in snail mail or under my cabin door onboard. Or you can see them on Carnival's website. Did the person say what department they are from or why you were given this offer?
cruiser fanatic Posted May 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Why did you get it? Also, just because the cruise fare is free you also have to pay the taxes and port expenses.
doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted May 8, 2015 It was from a PVP. The number is their Miami call center. I talked to her once already. It has to be used this year. We have to pay port fees and taxes. There are limitations, no Alaska. There are lots of threads on here about these offers. I have no idea why I was picked. We were on a cruise in January of this year. We didn't have anything currently booked.

doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Yes, I received my "Drink on us Card" in January. Maybe that has to do with it? She just said they were running promotions and I was picked.

I am using my casino offer for my cruise in 2 weeks.

falkcor Posted May 8, 2015 #13 Share Posted May 8, 2015 I'm curious if it also shows up in your VIFP offers? that's a good question i'm interested to know the answer to as well... i've actually been getting a few offers others apparently are not, but definitely not FREE cruises... doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) I'm curious if it also shows up in your VIFP offers? Yes, I just checked. There are 142 cruises showing up that are available for the offer. It is showing $50 per person for an inside cabin. From what I've read on here, you get a $100 obc. One of the sailings is the 11 day from Galveston ending in San Juan for $50 a person. Almost to good to pass up. ohiogymrat Posted May 8, 2015 #15 Share Posted May 8, 2015 that's a good question i'm interested to know the answer to as well... i've actually been getting a few offers others apparently are not, but definitely not FREE cruises... Just wondering if it had been sitting in his offers and then a PVP that was assigned to him called to let him know he had a free cruise. While I never answer the phone the PvP that is assigned to me, calls multiple times a week,to tell me about the offers in my VIFP account.

Boozebabe Posted May 8, 2015 #17 Share Posted May 8, 2015 I got the "call" on Tuesday and there were a lot of cruises available thru the end of the year. Haven't decided yet but need to call her back tomorrow to see if any are left. Ironically, today I recieved a Players club offer in the mail. They are not the same.. Different amounts of OBC etc.
Boozebabe Posted May 8, 2015 #18 Share Posted May 8, 2015 I'm curious if it also shows up in your VIFP offers? Mine does NOT show in my VIFP offers. This is actually the 3rd time I've been called with a free cruise. The second time I had to turn it down and never thought I'd be called again......and then Ta Da....the magic call on Tuesday. Boozebabe Posted May 8, 2015 #19 Share Posted May 8, 2015 so, its not really free is it  Well now, that depends. I don't screw around with slots. I play tables and have done very well, so for me the answer is an emphatic YES it is free.
bakersdozen12 Posted May 8, 2015 #20 Share Posted May 8, 2015 In my opinion, these "free" cruises are not actually free because you are paying for the cruise, just in the casino.
Boozebabe Posted May 8, 2015 #21 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Actually our FREE offer came in my husbands name. He spends maybe $100. per cruise in the casino. I am the gambler not him. The casino offer came in my name. They were 2 different offers. A PVP does not call or book a Players Club cruise they call about the random free cruises. bnorris10 Posted May 8, 2015 #22 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Would be awesome .... Now other than slots like on black jack table can they tell how much u spent or won or just how much you initially put down and how long u played
doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Mine isn't through the players club, it's through a pvp. I think it is just randomly picked.

doneinne Posted May 8, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted May 8, 2015 What is a drinks on us card? If you accumulate enough points in the casino they give you a card that allows you to drink for free in the casino for the rest of the cruise.
