Newbie ready to plunge Posted June 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2015 Mid-July we will be in port from 6PM-midnight. Will there be enough time/daylight to enjoy Butchart Gardens? Alternatively, we could take a ferry back to Victoria a day or so after we arrive in Seattle. Appreciate any input. Thank you.
Budget Queen Posted June 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2015 It "can" be enough time, but it is limiting. IF you are open to disembarking, then consider doing so. Well worth the time to spend a couple days in Victoria. Then easy to take the cheap city bus to Butchart for a longer visit.
mapleleaves Posted June 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2015 Sunset won't be until 9:15pm so you will have daylight until almost 9:45pm. Assuming your ship is on time and you take the cruiseline excursion you will probably arrive at Butchart by 7:15. 2 hrs at Butchart is about average for a cruise visit. I prefer 4. Victoria is a lovely city; if you're thinking of returning after the cruise, it would make more sense and cost much less money, if you just disembark in Victoria instead of returning to Seattle. Passengers do this regularly; just be sure to let staff know of your plans. Then take the Victoria Clipper to Seattle when you're ready. Or if your next destination in Vancouver, Pacific Coach has regularly scheduled service.
