question on hair dryer

I know they provide hair dryer in the room, but i was wondering if they are good or should i bring my own. :confused:

DW thought the dryer was adequate, but she has short hair and we had this wonderful commodity on board called TIME. If you have long hair, or don't want to use time, then fill space in your suitcase with the dryer.

I had a very poor hair dryer on the Grandeur. It would not plug in very well and it only worked on low. I have short hair so it wasn't bad, but most of the time I went outside and let the wind dry it. :)

I have longish hair (shoulder length) and I DID NOT like the hair dryer in the room. I brought my own. If you have ever stayed in a hotel room where they provide a hair dryer, it is the same thing. Not very powerful. Unless you have short hair the dries in a jiff, you should bring your own.

I agree with everyone else. I am a hairstylist by trade. The dryers do not have high enough heat to really use a round brush adequately. The also do not have a cool shot button to set the style.

 

That being said. I won't be bringing a dryer myself. But then I have VERY short hair that dries in about 2 minutes with any dryer.

 

I definitely would not recommend this dryer for 75% of my clients who style with a dryer.

I have very thick shoulder length hair, and I hated the dryer on the Mariner! Holding down the button started to hurt after a couple of minutes. I am glad I brought my own!

Bring your own... it isn't worth taking the risk. I brought my own travel dryer that has more power than the ship's dryer and I was glad that I did.

 

Why take a chance?

I'm also a first-timer! Now that I know to bring my dryer :) , what's the max wattage I can bring? Mine is 1800 or 1850. Do I need something less powerful?

I bring a travel dryer, which can fold over, and is 1600 watts. Works great!

On the AOS you had to hold the trigger down for it to work. A real pain in the a$$. We duct taped ours. Another reason to bring duct tape - LOL

I was on the Marinar and had no problem with the dryer. I have long curly hair too.
