I got the same offer on the egg hunt at $250 off room. I already deleted it. We tried that last year. No way I can beat those young people around the casino to get those eggs. My husband got his list of offers today in the mail and it is the 1008 offer too. Mine was 1005 with some of the same sailings on both.

I'm Signature and I got the same offer, but for only $250 off a cabin. Thinking the disparity in offers may be that CR is looking at more than just total points accrued in a program year when assigning discretionary comps. I would assume someone that racks up 12,000 points in a single sailing would be sent better comp offers than someone who accumulates the same 12,000 points but takes 6 cruises to rack them up. Makes sense, Laura is Prime and rarely gets anything. Shes at the low end though. Usually gets around 800, but lots of cruises
BEENSAILING Posted December 20, 2018 #2506 Share Posted December 20, 2018 My offers are all over the place - different stateroom offers. Seems no rhyme or reason. And when I have asked been told marketing decisions. So I pass the ones I do not want /cannot take.
texasreb Posted December 20, 2018 #2507 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I think they have just plain tightened up. January 2018 I played around 5,000 tier. Got a cert from host. Phoned Royale first week of Feb and booked 2 balcony cruises for the taxes only. First of these was in Sept. I played little that trip. My Prime inside I booked in Oct for a Jan 2019 sailing. I had to pony for the upgrade. Next sailed Nov 23 on a 9 day. Hit 2400 about the third day. Then my wife played her card. She was ahead after another 4 days and had 1800 tier. So she quit. The Dec 1 cert I received basically has Fla, San Juan, and Galveston sailings. Anywhere from 4 to 9 days. I have spoken with Royale casino about 4 times trying to get the upgrade fees for various sailings. As I am near to Galveston I am sure I will do it in Sep. The upgrades are large OV 262 Balc 698 Large Balc 738 all plus tax. We do have the wife's $400 cert to apply against the above. Then after April 1 sometime, we will have the two Prime inside to book, and upgrade. We do sail again in Jan so might get some some more cert money. But if we get it the 30 days will expire before we can book the Prime sailings. 30 days just isn't enough time for that play.

I'm told the same thing every time, " everyone gets different offers at different times". If it was a cruise I was interested in, I would be calling again, but right now I'm not interested in this one. So, I have a hypothesis about what is happening with these snail mail offers. My TA called CR yesterday to get prices for a couple of the sailings on this list. The CR agent told my TA that he (the CR agent) did not see this particular offer in my "list" off eligible offers. This suggests to me that these offers are PROBABLY not coming from Club Royale. My guess (and it is only that....a guess) is that these offers are coming from the Revenue Dept., not Club Royale. The CR agent told my TA that it was fine...that this happens all the time...and that all my TA would need to do was provide a scan of the offer (showing that it was truly my offer and not someone else's) and they would honor it. The CR agent went ahead and provided my TA with quotes to upgrade the offers for sailings that I was interested in. If I decide to book anything, I will just send my TA a scan of my offer and they will book whatever I want to book. There are plenty of suites left for both of the cruises I am interested in. So why am I getting offers for complimentary rooms and you (Gayle) are getting only offers for $$ off even though you are a higher tier level than me ? Again...just a hypothesis....but as with all things, I suspect it comes down to $$$$$. I have been upgrading these interior room offers for high end suites. Twice I have upgraded these offers all the way to Star Class and twice I have upgraded to Owner's Suites. In addition, I have been purchasing the Ultimate Dining Package and the Premium Drinks Package and Voom, once on board (obviously not on the SC bookings, but on all of the others), using the C&A D+ 30% discounts. So, I suspect that, b/c I am upgrading the offers AND purchasing lots of "extras", they know that I am a source of big PROFIT revenue (we all know that they basically break even on the cruise itself. It is the $$ extras that are the profit-generators). They continue to dangle the bait and I continue to snatch it up. That's the only explanation I can think of. On a slightly tangential track, I am very, very happy to see that these complimentary offers are still coming. My fear was that, with the new "RoyalUp" program, the days of the cheap casino upgrades would be over. But that doesn't seem to be the case. In fact, it seems that these offers are coming even more frequently than they used to. So I am relieved - at least for the moment - that the are still offering these great deals to us. RFerrington Posted December 20, 2018 #2509 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I just received the same offer (181RCL1008) in an email about an hour ago. Same terms, same offer code, same cruises on the list. I am booking the August 25, 2019 Liberty. Excellent upgrade price to an Owner's Suite. Could you say what the upgrade charge was ? Thanks Sure. No problem. This is for August 25, 2019 on Liberty. There are lots of suites available including 5 OS. We took 1 of the OS so there are still 4 available as of 2 minutes ago. The upgrade from inside room to OS will be $1992 ($996 PP) total cruise fare...plus $209.72 in taxes for the both of us so a total, total of $2201.72 (we will prepay grats as well but I don't factor them into the price). Full retail on this suite is $3838 PP but of course, nobody pays that. The full PP rate with the 30% "sale" is $5402 or $2701 PP. So if I'm paying $996 PP and the "public" pays $2701 PP, I am receiving a 63% discount on top of the already discounted rate. Overall, it is a 74% discount...but like I said, nobody pays full price so that's a bit of a red herring. Anyway, I think $142.29 PP/PD for an OS is a very good deal. I'd pay that any day. There were excellent deals on some Star Class rooms as well (August 25 on Allure) but it was just more than I wanted to pay since I already have 4 SC rooms booked. Even at a big discount those rooms are outrageous these days !

RFerrington Posted December 20, 2018 #2513 Share Posted December 20, 2018 One thing that I might mention....when you book one of these special rates, you MUST pay in full at the time that you book. That is a rather important detail that isn't made apparent up front. So whatever you decide to book, just know that you will have to pay the entire balance when you book. Of course, it will be a nonrefundable deposit and because the booking will have a $-0- balance, you would not be eligible for any fare reductions that may happen on down the road. That is one of the tradeoffs that you must make in order to get that excellent rate. Since full suites rarely go down in price, I think it's a reasonable risk. I have been able to get refunds on cruises that I upgraded and paid in full. My free Signature cruise, I upgraded to a regular balcony from the obstructive balcony they said was included with the Signature cruise it cost me $145 to upgrade. There was a price drop and I called and they refunded $113 to my credit card. I was told as long as it was before the final payment date. I know others who also got a refund. RFerrington Posted December 20, 2018 #2515 Share Posted December 20, 2018 YIPPEE !!! That's good to know. I had always thought that once it was paid in full you were done. I guess I'm lucky I've never had to cancel after I've paid in full and I just quit looking at prices once I've paid so maybe I should start checking !! The window for price reductions closes at the final payment due date, not the date you pay in full. Lots of folks are confused about this one. I've re-priced many cruises I've paid for in full. sellwingri Posted December 23, 2018 #2517 Share Posted December 23, 2018 A couple of weeks ago, I booked Anthem out of Bayonne on a cruise for November. It was listed on the certificate I received on my transatlantic cruise in November. I’m Signature but I don’t think that matters on these certificates. OHCruisinDad Posted December 31, 2018 #2519 Share Posted December 31, 2018 We are on the upcoming January 5th Symphony sailing and using our annual Prime comp. I just pre-purchased the casino table play package that provides 10% promotional free play. I figured why not? It means l have to take less cash plus I get double points on my RCL Visa. Since I won't need the cash, I already set up an automatic payment for the charge on my card. I'll report on how they handle the distribution of chips and prepaid credit as well as how play time and points are based when we get back from our cruise. WahtDa Posted January 1, 2019 #2520 Share Posted January 1, 2019 Just a tip I don't think anyone has mentioned: You can login to https://www.clubroyaleoffers.com/ and pull up all available cruises/events based on your C&A number. No need to wait for emails or snail mail.

You still have to contact CR to get the exact $$ and sailings, etc. I wish the website provided that information but it doesn’t.
