Sharp Objects/12-oz Bottles in Carry-Ons

I was advised by a friend to use the cutter on a packet of dental floss for cutting my crochet yarn if I needed to, on a plane. D.

 

What a good idea. That would work for needlepoint thread, too, I bet.

It does (using the dental floss cutter). That's what I used after all scissors were banned in the early to mid 2000's.

Anytime I cruise I usually always pack a pair of scissors (on different cruise lines) in my checked bag and never have a problem.

 

Last year on the Golden (little 4 day out of CA) I was waiting for my bag and got a notice that I had to go to the "naughty room,"....I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I actually didn't even think of the scissors because I always take a pair.

 

I dragged my friend with me since I had no idea what to expect especially after reading on CC all the naughty room talk LOL

 

Security asked me if I had a knife and I said no, than I said wait I do have scissors. They said please show us so I pulled them out ready to have them confiscated and they said okay thank you your fine. So no issues after that.

 

I have cruised princess, and celebrity since the golden and packed my scissors and had no issue. Go figure! :confused:
