Kasajfive Posted July 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Does anyone know if unsweetened iced tea is available on the Dawn?
macleay Posted July 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Yes, it is, in the buffet. I like it in the morning instead of coffee and would bring a couple of glasses from the buffet to my room every night so I would have it in the morning.
Charlie4 Posted July 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I 'thought' the iced tea I had was sweetened. What I did was bring an insolated mug, fill it with ice, make a cut of tea, then poor the hot tea in the iced mug !
Sand and Seas Posted July 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Also, at any of the restaurants they will serve you complimentary unsweetened ice tea.
macleay Posted July 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2015 The iced tea on the Dawn in the buffet by the coffee, etc, is unsweetened. I know because I won't drink sweetened iced tea.
Kasajfive Posted July 15, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Thanks good to know. I have the unlimited soda package for the family but I have given up soda and enjoy unsweetened iced tea.
macleay Posted July 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Same here. I don't drink soda or coffee, but love my iced tea! And the sweetener just ruins the taste for me.
zteamtwo Posted July 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Do they have "Splenda" on NCL?
johnlatte Posted July 15, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Do they have "Splenda" on NCL? They have yellow, blue and pink packages, but if you look closely they are all the same inside. I bring my own. Also the unsweet tea on the Dawn is really good. I had tea on another ship on another line and it was nasty, so I had to brew my own. But this tea was really good. Don't drink soda anymore, so this was very welcomed.

Rare Jorhammer Posted July 15, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I wonder how much they pay the guy that unsweetens the tea. :D
drvalo Posted July 15, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I have never found sweetened tea and any ship...not that I was looking for it. For me the tea is much too strong and I have to add lots of water, but it is certainly not sweetened.

meatball_nyc Posted July 15, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Yes, it is, in the buffet. I like it in the morning instead of coffee and would bring a couple of glasses from the buffet to my room every night so I would have it in the morning. That's a great idea. Thanks for the tip! I always add lemonade to my tea in the morning at the buffet. Not a coffee drinker either :) Now I will remember to get a couple glasses the night before. Diver2014 Posted July 15, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) I'd love to have sweetened tea on a ship! I'm an iced tea drinker and down here in Florida, more and more places are now serving our favorite beverage, sweetened tea! Just wish cruise ships would offer it. It's a southern thang (misspelled on purpose.....) Edited July 15, 2015 by Diver2014

Travel R Posted July 6, 2016 #17 Share Posted July 6, 2016 I know this is an old thread, but no need to start another new thread for a similar topic. Is Unsweetened Iced Tea offered aboard the Getaway?
Diver2014 Posted July 6, 2016 #18 Share Posted July 6, 2016 You can get unsweetened iced tea on almost any ship. It's sweet tea that is hard to find.
Mistizoom Posted July 6, 2016 #19 Share Posted July 6, 2016 Yes, you can readily get unsweetened iced tea on Getaway included with your cruise fare.
cb at sea Posted July 7, 2016 #20 Share Posted July 7, 2016 None of the tea is "sweet"...so no worries! If you want it sweet, you'll have to add sugar (or a fake sugar), and stir.
Sauer-kraut Posted July 7, 2016 #21 Share Posted July 7, 2016 None of the tea is "sweet"...so no worries! If you want it sweet, you'll have to add sugar (or a fake sugar), and stir. Pour the amount of sugar you want to add to your glass of iced tea into a coffee mug and get a small amount of hot water from the hot water dispenser and make a simple syrup. Add ice to that to cool it down and dump in the iced tea. Easy sweetened and no waiting for the sugar to melt.
Travel R Posted July 7, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks. PS: I actually prefer the tea unsweetened.

Ah, but a true sweet tea addict can tell you it's just not the same. Hubby will be very disappointed 🙁
