pterp Posted July 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2015 We are traveling in September, and just got a notification from RC regarding the timings for embarkation day. It states those with high enough status can board anytime starting at 10:30 am, and then boarding for others begins at 11 am based on which floor your stateroom is on. We are traveling with family who are on a higher floor than us, and we are first time travelers on RC. Will they care if we also board early? Thanks

Thanks I have not yet heard anyone report that the suggested boarding times are enforced at US ports.

Firefighterhoop Posted July 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2015 At that sepecific terminal they do not let guests into the terminal until right before embarkation starts. If there is a wait betwen check in and embarkation it is very short, but it is a shared terminal with celebrity. Each getting half the terminal with queue ropes down the middle to keep passengers seperate. With two ships in, seating becomes very limited upstairs. Downstairs people who get there before they let people in have to wait outside, and there is 1 restroom for both ships, so not the best waiting area. there are a few bench seats outside, but not many. (However, embarkation usually does go pretty smoothly!)
Rare teacherman Posted July 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2015 We just sailed out of Seattle for our first time. When we arrived at about 11:30, it seemed chaotic. People were dropping luggage for 2 different ships, there were lines going in to 2 different doors, the line to get through the scanners was long, etc. We are Diamond and could by-pass most of it. As it turned out, we were aboard about 30 minutes after arriving. One thing I noticed is that there were a LOT of groups (family reunions, clubs, etc) who tended to arrive together, thus creating crowding. The lines extended outside the terminal until almost 2:30. Sailaway was at 4:00, which is a little early.

mashy Posted July 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) 7/17 - sail / We ended up boarding the Jewel at about 10:45 AM and it was quite an easy process even two ships loading at the same time. Edited July 27, 2015 by mashy

Glad to hear your experience was nice and easy. Hopefully your entire cruise was just as smooth. What time did you reach the port?
