Rare MicCanberra Posted August 7, 2015 #226 Share Posted August 7, 2015 I wrote about some rude passengers in a review I did. In short: - A horrible lady that would swear and call children names, splash at them in the pool and intentionally do things to annoy/upset them. - A rude lady in the casino who told the staff member who gave her back her cruise card that she dropped 'Go away, I'm speaking with a friend'. - A lady who thought the dress code didn't apply to her. Highly inappropriate clothes every night in the restaurant and ignored staff who asked her to please wear something more appropriate. - A guy who clicked his fingers at wait staff , never said please or thank you and spoke to them like he was addressing a dog. He called a waiter 'dumb' one night and we felt so bad for him, we ended up apologising for his behaviour and gave him an extra big tip! I will never understand how people can have the audacity to treat other people like that, especially poorly paid staff who are just trying to make your holiday special. Some people have no idea until confronted in the same manner. I don't like confrontation but sometimes it needs to be done. Give them the same treatment to make them think about what they do.:(

kmkerr64 Posted August 8, 2015 #230 Share Posted August 8, 2015 I was raised to say please and thank you. I was raised to respect others. That is how I raised my children. Unfortunately, I think that lesson got lost along the way. Whether it be on a cruise ship or the grocery store, there is ALWAYS someone who has a sense of entitlement, and no regard to anyone but them and theirs. I'll ask him what he thinks when I see him on Dec, 3rd. ;) I guess at this point any comments about dogs and bones is inappropriate...
pinkpanther52 Posted August 8, 2015 #239 Share Posted August 8, 2015 I used to work in behind the bar in a sports club and if anyone asked for something without saying "Please" I would simply say "I think you have forgotten a word, would you like to repeat the question" 😀😀. Luckily as the manager was NOT of the opinion that the customer is always right I was never told off. As for the time someone clicked two fingers at me to make me "come to serve them" they got a VERY rude reply which Imam not sure I can post here. pinkpanther52 Posted August 8, 2015 #243 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Good on you, people are never too old to learn manners.:D I got a few blank looks 😱 then had to tell them the word I was looking for was "Please" 😮 Unfortunately in most places if the customer would complained the staff member would be told off. Was so happy my boss was not like that 😃
Shogun Posted August 8, 2015 #244 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Hi All I know I have told you this story before, but its still a good one, At diner, one of our table mates, chatted away as one does, when diner arrived chat was about what were you having was it nice etc then with out warning he helped himself to an item of food of your plate, not just mine but anyone with in his reach, he continued chatting saying that was nice might order that another night, he did not think he had done anything wrong, from that night onwards plates were guarded. yours Shogun
kmkerr64 Posted August 8, 2015 #245 Share Posted August 8, 2015 We were sitting at dinner one night with a group of 6, and one of the ladies asked another one "so what kind of hair color do you use?". Just out of the blue. Men might not get this, but as a woman, I was more mortified. But on the brighter side, she did say her please and thank you's. Drunkenness not an excuse for rude or just tacky behavior. Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
WupperAV Posted August 8, 2015 #246 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Ok, Enough negative. How about best manners. My Mother would hit me with her walking stick which was spiral maple weapon may she rest in peace, if I didn't use my P's and Q's. Once on Rome, my wife was at the counter in Fuimicino and an Italian dude stepped between us and was about to lift her wallet and I put my full 220 lb and a hiking boot square on his foot and stood there. He was swearing in It. and my wife turned around and said "What did you do?" I hate thieves and they are rampant in Italy (my wife is an Italian citizen) It was quite funny and the guy retreated, he had an empty suitcase on wheels too. shredie Posted August 8, 2015 #249 Share Posted August 8, 2015 then with out warning he helped himself to an item of food of your plate, not just mine but anyone with in his reach, We had that happen once with a lady at our table. Her husband chided her (rather gently) and we figured out she had problems of some kind. She never did it again, and she was really a very sweet person. Gary_Steele Posted August 9, 2015 #250 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Ive found if a poor crew member has had the unfortunate experience with unintelligent obnoxious bricks, I go to them and sympathise with them to reassure that we feel for them and boost their self esteem back up, makes me feel as though at least I have contibuted positively to them 👍👍 Sent from my SGP311 using Tapatalk
