Cardiffcup Posted August 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Would love to know thoughts on cruising early to mid August in Caribbean Experiences? Thanks
champagne123 Posted August 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Hot and humid for the most part. Downpours that can last a few minutes, and then the sun would come out again. On the upside....the water is like bath water. :)
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2015 It is hot and humid. We had some rainy days.
Grandma Dazzles Posted August 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Agree about the weather! Many ships that cater to families have more kids than other times of the year.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2015 It is the low season since it is very hot and humid and it is also hurricane season. With that said some ships sail then and we have been there that time of year before. Keith
OCruisers Posted August 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Hurricanes/Tropical Storms are always a concern when cruising in the Caribbean in August.
champagne123 Posted August 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Hurricane Season is SIX MONTHS out of the year. No way of predicting when one may occur. Hurricane Season: June, July, August, September, October, and November. If everyone concerned themselves with "Hurricane Season", no one would cruise six out of the twelve months of the year. We have "coincidentally" ONLY traveled during Hurricane Season and have YET to confront one.

Seago2 Posted August 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2015 It's definitely hot. Really hot. But the ship is air conditioned so if you don't spend all day in port you'll be fine. The only thing to watch out for is if you have to tender into a port and then get stuck in a long, sweltering line to tender back. Avoid that at all costs. Come back early or skip the port. Otherwise, you'll be fine. I've cruise the Bahamas and Caribbean in August many times.
