Hoyaheel Posted August 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) Starting to plan for a 2016 Asia cruise. We'll be in Ko Samui only for a few hours (8am -2pm according to current itinerary - and it's a tender port, so....) Is it worthwhile to try to find a quick snorkel trip or would we have to go too far off shore for anything decent (therefore taking too long). Thanks for any thoughts! (I don't actually snorkel but my husband does - saw some lovely photos and he's never snorkeled in Asia so I've been wondering if we should try....) Otherwise we'll just explore and maybe get a massage and drink on the beach....(I'm just not a beach person:o This is the only "beach" port of the trip) Edited August 10, 2015 by Hoyaheel
abatlin Posted November 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2015 We will be on Holland American in January doing the same thing. I too am wondering if it is worth it to find a beach to snorkel. I have been in contact with several beach resorts to see who will allow us to spend the day with them, having lunch and drinks while using their facilities. So far, the best seems to be Nikki Beach resort, close to Nathon Pier, nice resort, who do not charge extra to use facilities. Not sure how the snorkeling is there. Also looked at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort who charge BHT500 per person, Tango Luxe does not charge to use their facility. The two last resorts are on Bo Phat beach. Have you found out anything else about snorkeling?
